Lilliana Starr Ayers-born August 24, 2025 at 3:30 a.m. and passed away at 6:20 a.m. at East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. She is now resting in the arms of Jesus. She was loved so much by her family and would have been spoiled by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her uncle, Ian Cansler; great grandparents, John Ayers, Jr., George Cansler and Lucille Cureton.
Kathy Gayle Hensley-age 73 of Luttrell went to be with Jesus Saturday, August 23, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. Kathy was a hard worker and loved by all that ever met her. She was a former employee of American Clothing, Palm Beach and Rock-Tenn. Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Bonita (Boles) Hensley; sister, Shelby Beeler; brother-in-law, Hughie Beeler and brother, Doyle Hensley.
America has lost another of her Vietnam Veterans. (Francis) Van Manning-age 77 of Maryville TN passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025 at UT Medical Center and is now at peace with his Savior. Van was a disabled combat veteran having served two tours as a Navy Corpsman aboard the USS White Plains and the USS Kittyhawk during the Vietnam Conflict. An accident on deck of the USS White Plains exposed all the sailors to Agent Orange and the resulting disabling consequences.
Philip D. Goddard-age 79 of Benton, Tennessee passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025.Born on August 5th, 1946 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He volunteered for the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He will be remembered for the love he had for family and friends. Phil was preceded in death by his parents Leonard Clay Goddard and Adeane Rose King Goddard, his sister Peggy J. Higdon.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Laura A. Goddard. Siblings: Betty L. Goddard,

Earl George Walker-age 83, born September 16, 1941, of 9101 Three Points Rd., Mascot, formerly of Maynardville passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Heritage Assisted Living, Knoxville. He is retired from the Tennessee State Department of Transportation. He was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church.
Daryl Wayne Goin-age 74 of Corryton went to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. Daryl was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired employee of Smurffit-Stone, Knoxville. Preceded in death by his parents, Rev. John and Bertha (Hickle) Goin; brother, Samuel Goin; son-in-law, Adam Gass.
Larry Paul-age 58 of Maynardville passed away unexpectedly Sunday, August 17, 2025. Larry enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and playing music. Preceded in death by his father, Willard Paul; sisters, Inez Paul, Beck Paul.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Paul; sons, Adam Paul, Eli Paul, Charles James; daughter, Suzi Thurman; grandchildren, Damien Thurman, Allison Thurman; mother, Hagar Paul; sister, Missy Paul; special nephew, Alex Keck and a host of friends.
Judy Anderson Ramey age 79 of Corryton, previously of Luttrell for many years, went home to be with Jesus suddenly on August 14 2025 surrounded by her family at UT medical center.
Carl James Wyrick (81) passed away peacefully at home Thursday, August 14, 2025. He was born April 21, 1944 at his home place in Luttrell, TN. Carl is preceded in death by his parents, Calday & Frances (Pierce) Wyrick; brothers, Theodore, OG, Fred; sisters, Hester, Sally, Pearl, Carolyn, Barbara; nephews, Steve Atkins, James Wyrick, Jeff Wyrick, Michael Tolliver, Russ Tolliver; niece, Becky Tolliver.
He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Mary "Penny" Wyrick. They shared a great life with lots of love, patience, forgiveness, fishing and love for family.
James “Tony” Meltabarger – age 66 of Maynardville, passed away August 13, 2025 at Covenant Park West Hospital. He was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.
Tony is survived by wife of 41 years, Robin Meltabarger; son, Jeremy (Heather) Meltabarger; daughter, Haley Beason; grandchildren, Teyannah, Delaney, Easton, Baylee Meltabarger; Corbin Beason, Kiara Medina and Draven White; parents, Jim and Joyce Meltabarger; and brother, Marty Meltabarger. John William Ayers, Jr.-age 76 of Luttrell went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He was a member of Highland Springs Baptist Church in Blaine. Graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1967. John was a retired conductor for Norfolk-Southern Railroad and was a Veteran serving in the U. S. Army. Preceded in death by parents, John William Ayes and Ida Katherine (Young) Ayers; former wife, Brenda Ayers; brother-in-law, J. C. DeVault.
Kathy Jane England-age 68 of Cumberland Gap went to be with the Lord Friday, August 8, 2025 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by father, Joe England; mother, Betty England; brother, Ronald England.

Virginia “Jenny” Rose (Zachary) Collins, born May 4, 1951 – age 74 of Corryton, was welcomed into her Heavenly home, Wednesday, August 6, 2025. She was a dedicated member of and beloved teacher of the Children’s Sunday School Class at Powder Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by father and mother, Clay and Anglee Zachary; brothers, Donald Ray Zachary, Harley Acuff, James (Glenda) Zachary, Gene Zachary, and Coy Zachary; sister, Evelyn Galyon; and nephew, Donnie Atkins.
Richard Nathan “Bubby” Ritter-age 19 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, August 5, 2025 at his home. He was a member of Open Doors Outreach Ministry and J. C. Baker Lodge #720 F. & A.M. He was a graduate of Union County High School Class of 2023. He was a student pilot of single engine airplanes. He worked at Clayton Homes in Maynardville as a welder and was an avid skate boarder. Nathan was absolutely loved by everyone. Preceded in death by grandparents, Harold and Anna Satterfield, Bonnie Potts.
Genette R. Ray – age 80 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday August 6, 2025, at NHC Healthcare. She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church in South Knoxville and was a retired employee of St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her daughters, Rebecca Hutchison, Ruth Ann Ray; parents, Paul and Reba (Ridenour) Hicks; ex-husband, Clifford Hutchison; sister, Audrey (Jennie) Bradd.

JoAnn Powell Fee Oaks – born September 3, 1939, went home to be with her Savior on August 2, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was the heart of our family and her love, kindness and support for us will be deeply missed.
Lloyd Ellis “L.E.” Savage-age 67 of Luttrell, born April 9, 1958, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 3, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy battle with cancer. L.E. was saved at a young age. He enjoyed running heavy equipment for a living. His most favorite thing to do was spending time with his daughter working on the farm and going to Lady Vols basketball games. Preceded in death by his parents, Paris and Ina Savage; brothers, Riley, Andy, Jackie Savage; sister, Nellie Kay Chesney.
Bert Steven Davis – age 68 of Maynardville, passed away August 2, 2025 at his home. He was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
