Patricia Sue “Patsy” Simmons-age 88 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at her home. She was a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1956. Patsy retired from the Union County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office. She loved being with family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Sarah Hopson; infant baby, Patti Jill; brothers, Herbert and Howard Hopson; several aunts, nephews and nieces.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jack Simmons; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Wayne Brock; brothers-in-law, Freddie Simmons, Gerald (Carolyn) Simmons; sister-in-law, Nancy Hopson; special friend and care giver, Angela Brock Haynes.

The family will receive friends 5-7 Pm Friday, September 4, 2026, with funeral service to follow at 7 PM, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Rev. Gabril Haynes, Rev. Randy Beeler officiating with music by Rev. Gabril Haynes. Interment 11 AM Saturday, September 5, 2026, Monroe Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet 10:15 AM Saturday at the funeral home to go with the procession.
