Betty J. Shoffner, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Luttrell, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a faithful member of Little Barren Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was deeply committed to her faith and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved her family, and they will all miss their Mom, Granny B, Nan , and Nano dearly.

Burrell O. Harris-age 89 of Heiskell passed away suddenly Friday morning, June 19, 2026. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired U. S. Army Veteran, Sergeant First Class. He served in the Korean War and the Viet Nam War and received numerous awards and citations to include the Purple Heart received during his time in Viet Nam. He was also a retired University of Tennessee Campus Police Officer.

Billy Allen Nicley – May 2, 1966 ~ June 19, 2026. He was of the Baptist faith and professed salvation at an early age. Billy was a free spirit with a love for life. He loved to hunt, fish, climb trees and drive fast. Billy never met a stranger, and he would always greet you with a smile. His decisions would often clash with the good things of life but had a loving heart for his family and friends.

Charlotte “Kay” Butler - age 74 of Maynardville passed away on June 21, 2026, at The University of Tennessee Medical Center surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 4, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Kay lived a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and creating lasting memories with those she loved most. She was the beloved wife of Wayne D. Butler, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion.

Jerry Lynn Crawford-age 54 of Maryville passed away Friday, June 12, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will never be forgotten. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend whose larger-than-life personality touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Jerry loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing pool, attending chicken fights, gambling, and cheering on the Tennessee Vols in football.

Larry Michael Wilkins – 71 of Maynardville, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 8, 2026. He was a proud and devoted single father of two children, Sarah and Jason, who were his pride and joy. Larry was a chef for many years and truly loved what he did. Food brought people together and that’s what he did. He was a devoted father, son, brother, friend and husband. Later in life he found love and held on and cherished every moment they had. Larry truly was a very compassionate, loyal, extraordinarily genuine kind soul.

Sherri Gayle Archer-age 65 of Harrogate, formerly of Maynardville, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at her home. She was a retired schoolteacher with Horace Maynard Middle School and was the Assistant Librarian. She was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1979. Preceded in death by her husband, Victor Archer; parents, Tip and Doris (Houston) Ingle; brother, Bobby Ingle; sister-in-law, Maryanna (Keck) Ingle.

James A. Israel-age 94 of Powder Springs, Tennessee passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was a faithful member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church, Luttrell. He was a 70-year member of Corryton Lodge #321 F. & A.M., the Knoxville Scottish Rite and the Kerbela Temple. James was an employee and driver for Brown Transportation for over 35 years. Preceded in death by parents, John and Eddie Israel; mother of his children, Dorothy Palmer Israel; sons, Jimmy Israel and Johnny Israel; grandson, John Ashley Israel; great-grandson, Matthew Lee Israel (USMC).

Bobby Joe Muncey-age 48 of Luttrell passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at his home. He enjoyed drag racing and fishing. Preceded in death by his father, Charles Muncey and his grandparents.

He is survived by his mother, Sue Muncey; children, Jake Muncey (Celisa), Cherokee Muncey (Elizabeth), Chevelle Ridenour (Michael); grandchildren, Jaxson Ridenour, Mallie Muncey, Maverick Muncey, Noah Muncey, Mazikeen Muncey; brother, David Muncey (Wendy); nephews, Daniel and Austin Muncey. Several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Coy Richard “Dickie” Tharp-age 75 of Luttrell passed away Monday, June 1, 2026, at his home. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War. Preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Tharp; parents, Coy and Velma Faye (Williams) Tharp; brother, Michael Lynn Tharp, Sr.; sisters, Linda Washam and DeAnna Cooper.

August Peter “Gus” Nappi-age 88, born December 17, 1937, in Queens, New York, of Maynardville passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at home. He was of the Catholic faith and devote to it. He was a retired land surveyor of 40 years and had been in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Before moving to Maynardville Gus enjoyed fishing, boating and woodworking. Preceded in death by his parents, August Nappi and Anna (Deblasio) Nappi; sisters, Gloria Friedel and brother-in-law, Bob Friedel.

Wenda Elaine Lambert-age 69 of Maynardville passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026, at her home. She was a member of New Life Faith Center Church, Port Deposit, Maryland. She was a former housekeeper of West Nottingham Academy, Colora, Maryland. Preceded in death by her husband, Gary Lambert; parents, George and Violet Kiser; brothers, Jessie Jennings, Donnie Jennings, Bobby Jennings; sisters, Linda Jennings Pierce, Louise Jennings Leonard, Margaret Duncan, Brenda Jennings, Mary Jennings, Joseph Jennings.

Rev. Roy Esco Beeler-age 93 of Halls passed away Friday, May 29, 2026, at UT Medical Center. He was a member of Emory Valley Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Wilma June Beeler; parents, Alonzo and Ada Beeler; brother, Jimmy Beeler, Vaughn Beeler; sister, Betty Houser.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roy Lynn and Kathy (Kropff) Beeler.

Della Mae (Louis) Inman – 99 of Powder Springs, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026.

She is preceded in death by husband, Arthur Inman, Sr.; parents, Wheeler and Anna Mae Louis; and daughter, Judy Lovet. Della is survived by children, Yvona (Carl) Weaver, Shirley (David) Mace, Arthur, Jr. (Rose) Inman, Mary (John) England, Dave (Ann) Inman, Paul Inman, Sr.; Jerry Inman, Sr., and Lee Inman. Nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Vicki Lynn Monroe Lambert-age 72 of Knoxville passed away Monday morning, May 25, 2026, at Beverly Park Place. She was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Preceded in death by her parents, G.C. “Jack” and Maxie Dove (Raley) Monroe; brother, Jackie Monroe.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Catte and son-in-law, Josh Catte; grandson, Rusty Catte; brother, Greg Monroe and several beloved aunts and uncles.

Jeannie Holt Ray – age 55 of New Tazewell, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 17, 2026.

Mary Lou (Atkins) Sexton-lovingly known as “Granny” – 91 of Luttrell, went to sleep peacefully and woke up in Glory on May 18, 2026. Born on October 24, 1934, in Lima Ohio, Mary Lou lived a life rooted in family and faith. With a humble and gentle spirit, she spent her life putting others before herself and serving her family with love. She was a faithful member of Warwick’s Chapel Baptist Church, where she actively served as the church pianist. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived each day. Mary Lou was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and Granny.

Susan Elizabeth (Munsey) Isbel-age 68 of Knoxville, born March 5, 1958, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by her father, James C. “J.C.” Munsey; mother, Jeanie Headrick; brother, Charles “Charlie Brown” Headrick; brother-in-law, Jon Kimbrough.

Imogene (Brantley) Munsey-age 87 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, May 15, 2026 at her home. She was the oldest member of Fairview Baptist Church. Imogene was affectionately known by family as “The Queen of Maynardville”. Imogene served her community by serving in the Union County Rescue Squad “Crewettes” for over 30 years and drove a school bus for Union County Schools for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by husband of 64 years, Melborn (Duck) Munsey; son, Marvin Munsey; two brothers, Clarence and Ronnie Brantley; one sister, Linda Strange.
