Doris Lynn McDonald

Doris McDonald-age 80 of Luttrell passed away Monday evening, November 24, 2025 at Beverly Park Place, Knoxville. She was a member of Northshore Baptist Church, Knoxville. She was a retired employee of Knox County Schools, Central Office and had 27 years with CVS Pharmacy. Doris also served as a substitute teacher with Union County Schools. Preceded in death by parents, daughter, Tammy Riggs, great-grandson, Timothy Mitchell.

Virgil Lee "Squirrel" Rutherford

Virgil Lee “Squirrel” Rutherford-age 91 of Knoxville went to his resting place Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of the former Schubert Lumber Company and had 45 years of service with them. Preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Gracie Rutherford. Girlfriend, Wilma Boruff; mother of his children, Virginia Baker; sons, Charles and Tommy Rutherford, grandchildren, Josh, T.J., Alieha, Tina and Cooper. Special brother, Donald. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

M. Shirlene Wyrick

M. Shirlene Wyrick-age 68 of Tazewell passed away Monday, November 24, 2025. She was a member of Clear Springs Baptist Church, Corryton. Preceded in death by her father, Verlin “Jim” Wyrick; mother, Alta Mae Wyrick; brothers, Verlin Wyrick, Jr., Franklin Wyrick, Charles Wyrick.

She is survived by her sister, Marie Huddleston, Corryton; brother, Eddie (Donna) Wyrick, Knoxville; very special friend, Billy McCoy, Maynardville and several nieces and nephews.

Vickie Sue (Richardson) Shope

Vickie Sue (Richardson) Shope-age 58 of Heiskell passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Thursday, November 20, 2025. Vickie is preceded in death by parents, E. R. and Mary (Anderson) Richardson; husband, Jimbo Shope; brothers, Eddie, Bud and Jessie Richardson.

She is survived by her three sons, Marty (Amanda) Shope; Michael (Billie) Shope and Cody Shope. Eleven grandchildren. Siblings, Patsy (Billy) Humphrey; Jeff Richardson. Several nieces and nephews.

Larry Glen Williams

Larry Glen Williams-age 77 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, November 20, 2025 at Willow Ridge Center in Maynardville. He was a retired carpenter. Larry loved his grandchildren and taught them about the great outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish with his grandchildren. He attended Atwood High School. Preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Paislee. He was one of 11 children of the family of the late Claude Thomas and Mamie Williams. His deceased siblings are Thomas, Rachel, Joel, Charles, Bobby, Jerry, Marvie, Bettie Jo and Claude.

Peggy Jane Palmer

Peggy Jane Palmer – age 86 of Sharps Chapel, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Peggy loved to ride motorcycles, fishing, going to the beach and loved the casino. She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Palmer; son, Larry Slimp; parents, Helen and Clarance Kennedy; sisters, Jean McMahan, Joan Harmon, Gail McCubbins; brother, Robert Kennedy.

Herman Lewis Arthur

Herman “Lewis” Arthur – age 63 of Maynardville, passed away November 18, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Lewis made a profession of faith at a young age.

He is preceded in death by parents, Herman Arthur and Ann Malone Arthur Young. Lewis is survived by children, Robert Arthur; daughter, Jennifer (Robbie) Helton; grandchildren, Jayden, Sylas, Ben, Lillian, Natalie, Bobby and Juliet; brother, Jimmy (Vanessa) Arthur; uncles, Bill and Ray Malone; aunt, Jane Ault; and special nephews, Ryan and Issac Arthur.

Betty Jane Hickle

Betty Jane Weeks Harvey Hickle, age 93, and her twin brother James were born May 19, 1932, to Sarah Lee Weeks and James Weeks. Betty lived a wonderful, successful, happy and honorable life. Betty was one of 6 children and the third oldest. Betty outlived her siblings. Betty passed peacefully on November 16, 2025.

Harriet Terry

Harriet Terry – age 75 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully November 17, 2025 surrounded by her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and working in her garden.

Yvette Rene (Red) Hall

Yvette Rene (Red) Hall-age 56 of New Tazewell passed away November 15, 2025 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was self-employed as an escort driver. Preceded in death by her husband 28 years, Floyd Joe Lee “Bo” Hall, Jr.; son, Dustin Collins; daughter, Kacy Collins; mother, Carolyn J. Jones; brother, Zack Jones.

Michael Cooper

Michael Steven Cooper age 69 formally of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord November 9 at Ft Sanders Hospital. He passed peacefully with his wife, children, and family by his side.
Born and raised in Maynardville, TN to Ralph and Shirley Cooper on June 22,1956. A 1975 Graduate of Horace Maynard High School, he retired from Big Ridge State Park after 42 years of service.
Michael was a great lover of sports especially his beloved UT Vols and Atlanta Braves. Michael held season tickets to both football and Lady Vols for many years.

Jackie Steven Brewer

Jackie Steven Brewer-age 69 of Sharps Chapel passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Willow Ridge Center after battling an extensive illness. He is preceded in death by parents, Boyd and Lurtie Brewer; sister, Juanita Brewer Woods; nephew, Billy Joe Turner; nieces, Connie Freeman, Maryann Cooper Cox; brothers-in-law, Rev. Larry Cooper, Ray Martin, Bill Turner and Rev. Paris Woods.
Survivors: daughter, Michelle Brooks; brother, Ralph (Juanita) Brewer; sisters, Helen (Joe) Holloway, Kathy Turner, Alma Cooper and Janet Nipper. A host of nieces and nephews.

Charles Muncey

Charles Junior Muncey – age 71 of Maynardville, went to live forever in the presence of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1954 to Pearlie Lee Tharpe Muncey and Charles Edward (Edd) Muncey. Charles passed away suddenly while working at Tru (Clayton) Homes, where he had been employed for forty-two years. He was a member of New Start Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, special grandmother, Annie (Polly) Muncey; as well as several aunts and uncles.

Winnie Effler

Winnie Elizabeth (Cox) Effler – age 79 of Maynardville, received her eternal reward on Thursday, November 6, 2025, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of Milan Baptist Church.

Wanda June Williams

Wanda June Williams-age 81 of Blaine passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025. She was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Norman E. Williams; son, Gary E. Williams; parents, Raymond and Hazel Whaley; brothers, Carroll Whaley and Bobby Whaley; sister, Karen Whaley.

James Edward Bailey

James Edward Bailey-age 26 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, November 1, 2025, doing what he loved, in a tragic boating accident. He had the biggest heart and the smartest mind. He loved God, fishing, hunting, and trucks. James never knew a stranger and was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a member and Deacon of Leatherwood Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his sister, Angel Hope Bailey; grandfathers, Darrell Bailey and Buster Beeler; aunts, Joyce Nicley and her husband, L.D. Nicley, Bessie Bailey; uncle, Greg Bailey.

Kay Glann

Kay Frances Glann – 76 of Knoxville, passed peacefully into the arms of her loving savior on Sunday, November 2, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1949, to Clinton and Charlotte Older. Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, prayer warrior, friend and a true light in a dark world. Kay smiled often, sang freely, prayed continuously and loved with her entire being. Laughter always filled any room she was in and you never left without a full belly and a full heart.

Danny Ray Inman

Danny Ray Inman-age 66 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at U. T. Medical Center. He attended Christian Redemption Center, Knoxville. Preceded in death by parents, Alan Inman, Sr. and Martha Inman; brothers, Bobby Joe Inman, Eddie Inman and Buddy Wayne Inman.
