Franz Geoffrey Tubens-age 88 of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away Monday, August 10, 2026, in Athens, Tennessee.
Interment 1 PM Friday, August 14, 2026, at Narrow Ridge Cemetery, Washburn. Family and friends will meet at 12 PM Friday at the funeral home to go with the funeral procession. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
Irma Ruth Pallan-age 85 of Morristown passed peacefully surrounded by family on the morning of Sunday, August 9, 2026. She was born in Knoxville on August 27, 1940, and graduated from Halls High School in 1959. Irma Ruth was proud of her career as an X-Ray and Ultrasound Technologist. Her work took her to many states, and in retirement she spent time traveling the world. Irma Ruth lived in Alaska for nearly 30 years before moving back to East Tennessee three years ago.
Darrell Roger Nicley-age 76 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Sunday, August 2, 2026. He enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, chicken fighting but most of all spending time with his grandkids. Preceded in death by his daughter, Claudia Nicley Davis; parents, James and Lenore Nicley; brothers, Eugene Nicley and Anderson Nicley.
Ronald Allen McDaniel-age 72 of Luttrell passed away Saturday, August 2, 2026, at his home. He attended Beneath The Cross Church, Luttrell. He was a retired over the road trucker and loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He also was a mechanic that worked on cars and motorcycles.
Janice Marie Wood - age 69 of Luttrell went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loved ones at her home on Saturday August 8, 2026. She was an employee at Hillcrest for forty years as a dietary aide. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Gary Wood; her parents, Jack and Lillie McAnally; brother, Roy Lee McAnally; sister, Melissa Washam; mother & father-in-law, Nola and Brady Wood; brothers-in-law, Roger Washam, Frankie, Don, Duck, and Jim Wood; sister-in-law, Thelma Hill; great granddaughter, Kennedy Lynn Sherritze.

Melba Ruth Wallace, 86, of Luttrell, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth was known for her love of her family, friends and incredibly generous heart. She spent many happy years sharing her sewing talents with people from near and far, creating many beautiful, handmade garments. But she was always happiest spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
James E. Muncey – age 72 of Luttrell, was saved on an Easter Sunday morning many years ago and went to his Heavenly Home on August 4, 2026. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. James worked at Marlock, Inc. in Maynardville until they closed and then was employed with St. Mary’s Hospital, now Tennova Medical Center, until he retired last month.
Margaret “Sue” Harvey-age 85 of Sharps Chapel gained her heavenly wings Sunday, August 2, 2026. Sue was a care free spirit who loved to help others and was a loving great grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband, Leon Harvey; son, Charles Clouse; parents, George and Commie Bryant.
She is survived by her son, Ricky Clouse; granddaughter, Amy Griffey (Erick); grandson, Joey Clouse (Kristen); seven great grandchildren; special niece, Trish Inman.

Eric Stephen Hill-age 46 of Maynardville passed away Friday evening, July 31, 2026, at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1997. He attended New Home Baptist Church, Andersonville. Preceded in death by his father, James Ruba Gordon Hill, Sr.; stepfather, Roy Branum, Jr.; grandparents, Alva and Leola Branum, Ruba and Dorothy Hill.
Angela Kay Middleton-age 65 of Maynardville passed away Friday, July 31, 2026, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Angela was helpful, kindhearted, welcoming and loved by so many. She worked as a social worker for many years and loved working with the kids of this community and their families. She loved her husband, kiddos and grandbabies more than anything. Preceded in death by the love of her life, Terry Middleton; parents, Steve and Ruth Snelson; brothers, Tommy Snelson, Rick (Reba) Snelson, and Mike Snelson; sister, Hope Snelson.
Jackie L. (Hensley) Wyrick-age 73 of Luttrell passed away Saturday, August 1, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Jim Town Baptist Church. Jackie was a loving, wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mossie (Muncey) Hensley; brothers, Larry Hensley, Gene Hensley, A.J. Jerry Howard Eastridge, age 77, of Niota, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully in his sleep and went to be with the Lord.
Glen Allen Gillis Kitts-age 76 of Maynardville, born April 30, 1950, to Estel and Juanita Kitts, went to be with our Lord and Savior Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his parents, Estel “Fuzzy” and Juanita Kitts; brothers, Eddie “Moose” Kitts, Joe Kitts; sisters, Janice Wyrick and Carolyn Hensley.
Jimmy Edward Woods, Jr. age 42 of Mascot went to be with the Lord Friday, July 25, 2026 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and an employee of Timkin, Mascot. Preceded in death by, grandparents, Paul Cardwell; Otis and Ruth Woods.
Survivors: mother, Penny Sue Woods of Mascot; son, Dakota Woods of Maynardville; father, Jimmy Edward Woods, Sr. of Maynardville; brother, Brandon Woods; grandmother, Joann Cardwell. Several other family members along with a host of friends.
Adela Hensley, 79, passed away on July 24, 2026, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a devoted Christian whose faith guided every part of her life. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of Jesus and reunited with loved ones who went before her.
Adela found joy in life’s simple pleasures and especially enjoyed online shopping. Her family lovingly remembers that there was always a package on the way to her home, and they smile imagining her being greeted in Heaven with even greater blessings waiting for her.
Devin Michael King, born June 19, 1996, went home to be with his Savior on July 17, 2026, at the age of 30.
Devin leaves behind a family he loved more deeply than words could ever express.
He leaves behind his loving parents, Mike and Rene’ King; his wife, Alexis King; and his beloved children, Anslei, Bellemy, Oliver and Alyana.
He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Destiny (Tommy), and brother, Darrin (Carah), who were not only his siblings but two of his closest and very best friends throughout his life.
Bonnie Lou Crider Kitts Newman Reece-age 87 of Maynardville went to be home with her Lord and Savior Thursday, July 23, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Crider, Parrie and Jefferson Burkhart; husbands, Ralph Kitts, Clyde Newman and Eugene Reece; brothers, Clarence and Harvey Crider; grandson, Randal Kitts.
Sarah was born on March 28, 1952, in Nashville, TN, to Cabell and Evelyn Watkins. She was an only child and prized treasure to her parents. By the age of 15, both her mother and father passed away, but Sarah knew God had a larger plan for her life and trusted Him to guide her steps. She attended Ben Lippen School in Asheville, NC, her junior and senior year. After graduation, she attended Columbia Bible College in Columbia, SC, where she met Joel McCall in the college bookstore on the first day of school. They married July 15, 1972, following her sophomore year.
Patricia Lynn (Collins) Norton-age 82 of Maynardville passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at Oakwood Senior Living, Knoxville. She was a Christian of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by her husband, James Norton; son, Jay Michael Collins; parents, Ernest and Ruby Jeanette Collins; sister, Peggy Brooks.
She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Rhymer and husband, Lonnie; grandson, Owen Rhymer; son, Richie Norton; sisters, Jonnie Surrett, Tracy Collins; brother, Keith Collins, Daniel Collins and several nieces and nephews.
