Mikel Collins

Mikel Collins, age 75, of Maynardville, Tennessee, passed away on July 18, 2026.Born on March 13, 1951, and raised in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, Mikel spent most of his working life as a truck driver. He was a member of Taylor’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Among his greatest joys were piddling on the farm and spending time with his grandchildren, Hayley, Addie, and Levi, and his great-grandchildren, Blayne and Luke, of whom he was immensely proud.

John Earl Nicley

John Earl Nicley-age 87 of Washburn passed away peacefully at home Saturday, July 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Earl was born October 10, 1938, in Union County to the late Rob and Mae Nicley. He was a member of Mount Eager Baptist Church, Washburn. He dedicated over 40 years to farming and was known for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and love for his family. He enjoyed fishing, working in his garden, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Billy Curtis Ramsey

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Billy C. Ramsey-age 70 of Blaine, born July 15, 1956, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026. He was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church, Blaine and was a member of Union #619 Teamsters Avisco. Preceded in death by his parents, Lavator and Evelyn Ramsey; four brothers and two sisters.

Ruth Atkins Skeen

Ruth Atkins Skeen-age 97 of Luttrell passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a charter member of New Friendship Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Palm Beach Company with 30 years of service. There to greet her at Heaven’s Gate: Husband, R.G. Skeen; parents, Arthur and Bessie (Chesney) Atkins; sisters, Grace Atkins, Katheryn Flynn; brother, Jack Atkins.

Roberta England

Roberta Allie England went home to be with her Lord on July 9, 2026, at the age of 92. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a life-long member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. Everyone that knew her was a witness to how fiercely she loved and cherished her family.

Eula V. (Larmer) Carr

Eula V. (Larmer) Carr-age 80 of Knoxville passed away peacefully Saturday, July 4, 2026 at her home. She was a member of united Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by companion, Ralph Carr; parents, Odie and Zella (Savage) Larmer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Conard and Dorothy Larmer, Clarence (Tubby) Larmer; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda (Larmer) and Kenneth Hensley.

Johnny Lee Wallace

Johnny Lee Wallace-age 68 of Maynardville passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, July 7, 2026. He was the baby boy of 12 children born to Reuben and Cleo Wallace. Johnny was best known for picking and arguing with everyone he knew. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone. Johnny is preceded by his parents, Reuben and Cleo Wallace; infant siblings, Ralph and Mary Lou; sisters, Dorothy, Betty, Evelyn and Peggy; brothers, Rex and Junior.

Veronica King

Phil Collins

Phil Collins age 66 went to be with his Jesus July 3, 2026. I lost my soulmate today of 49 years together. Our son has lost his father. His granddaughters lost their Papaw. His brothers and sisters lost another brother. His nieces and nephews lost their favorite uncle. But now he gets to join his mom and dad and his daughter in a Better Place. You are so lucky to have known this man who had the biggest heart, loved his Jesus, loved his family. He was a hardworking man and worked as a welder at Clayton Homes and Norfolk Southern Railway.

Norma Cooke Jones

Norma Jean (Cooke) Jones – age 73 of Andersonville went Home, Sunday, July 5, 2026. She was a member of Community Baptist Church. Norma was an employee of Levi Strauss and Co. and retired from Union County Public Schools after 30 years of service. Norma loved to cook, bake, quilt, embroider and simply serve in any way she could. Her generosity of spirit will survive in the lives of all who she loved. Norma made many baby quilts and wedding cakes and loved being a part of special moments in people’s lives.

Jerry E. Bailey, Jr.

Jerry E. Bailey, Jr.-age 57 of Thorn Hill, formerly of Maynardville, born October 19, 1968, in Knoxville, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at home with his family by his side. Jerry enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley, spending time on the lake and refinishing furniture. Preceded in death by his father, Jerry E. Bailey, Sr.; mother, Brenda England Miracle; maternal grandparents, Ott and Sara England; paternal grandparents, Claude and Goldie Bailey; companion and best friend, Piper.

Richard Allen Noland

Richard Allen Noland-age 76 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Friday, July 3, 2026 at his home. He was a member of Raccoon Valley Baptist Church. U. S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a retired truck driver. Preceded in death by wife of 35 years, Donnita (Ogle) Noland; parents, Arnold and Lorraine Noland, two brothers, Chuck Noland and Harold Noland.

Ernest F. McNeely

Ernest F. McNeely-age 79 of Sparta, formerly of Seymour, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 at NHC HealthCare Sparta. He was a member of Copper Ridge Baptist Church, Powell. Ernest had been a delivery driver for Wade’s Bakery. Preceded in death by his parents, Emmit and Lou Ella (Taylor) McNeely; brother, Robert McNeely; niece, Rebecca Lee Anderson.

He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Turner; sister-in-law, Barbara McNeely; nieces and nephews, Robert McNeely, Jr., and wife Desirae, John Anderson and wife, Kathy.

Clarence "Chuck" Miller, Jr.

Clarence “Chuck” Miller, Jr. – age 60 of Farragut, formerly of Claiborne County, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Chuck worked in the ambulance service for 25 years and was a member of the Claiborne County Rescue Squad. He loved people and never meet a stranger. In his spare time, he enjoyed working/tinkering on cars.

Doris Fay Lewis

Doris Fay Lewis -”Mamaw Dodo”, age 82 of Maynardville was welcomed into her Heavenly home Tuesday, June 30, 2026. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. She was welcomed by her parents, Willie and Mary Tharp; five siblings and her son, Frank “Bill” Thomas, Jr.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Rita Wyrick; grandsons, Chris and Misty Wyrick; Aaron and Kim Wyrick; Jerry and Melissa Claiborne. 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Jane B. Miracle

Jane B. Miracle-age 84 of Tazewell, formerly of Maynardville, passed away peacefully Monday, June 29, 2026, at Claiborne Health and Rehab. Jane loved children and was a granny to everybody. Preceded in death by her father, Jim Brewer; mother, Aileen Ball; stepfather, Willard Ball; children, Paula Killion, Angie Miracle, Steve Miracle; grandchildren, Steven Miracle, Jr., Dustin Wilson and several siblings.

Betty Josephine Shoffner

Betty J. Shoffner, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Luttrell, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a faithful member of Little Barren Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was deeply committed to her faith and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved her family, and they will all miss their Mom, Granny B, Nan , and Nano dearly.

Burrell O. Harris

Burrell O. Harris-age 89 of Heiskell passed away suddenly Friday morning, June 19, 2026. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired U. S. Army Veteran, Sergeant First Class. He served in the Korean War and the Viet Nam War and received numerous awards and citations to include the Purple Heart received during his time in Viet Nam. He was also a retired University of Tennessee Campus Police Officer.

Billy Allen Nicley

Billy Allen Nicley – May 2, 1966 ~ June 19, 2026. He was of the Baptist faith and professed salvation at an early age. Billy was a free spirit with a love for life. He loved to hunt, fish, climb trees and drive fast. Billy never met a stranger, and he would always greet you with a smile. His decisions would often clash with the good things of life but had a loving heart for his family and friends.
