Myrell Lee Dykes
Myrel Lee Dykes-age 100 of Sharps Chapel went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at her home. She was the oldest member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel and she was a retired employee of Halls Walmart as a door greeter. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Aylor Dykes.
Survivors: daughter, Melba Bennett and husband, Steve of Maynardville; son, Randy Dykes and wife, Shirley of Sharps Chapel. Granddaughter, Jennifer Ruhlow and her children, Bryanna Hemphill and husband, Tyler, Memphis Mullins. Grandsons, Randy Keith Dykes and wife, Rebecca; Brandon Scott Dykes and wife, Amber; three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Ellison-Dykes Cemetery, Sharps Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharp officiating with music by Verna Dykes and other family members. Pallbearers: Warren Dykes, Curtis Dykes, Mike Dykes, Leonard Dykes, Randy Dykes, Rendy Keith Dykes, Brandon Scott Dykes. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery 12:45 p.m. Thursday. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
