Ray Malone

Ray Von Malone, age 85, of Maynardville, passed away on August 27, 2026. He was born on April 17, 1941, and graduated from Horace Maynard High School in 1959. He was a member and Trustee of Alder Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He served four years in the United States Navy and worked for Alcoa Aluminum Company for 36 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for 60 years. In his free time, Ray enjoyed wood carving and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Martha (Raley) Malone; his son, Preston Malone; his brothers, Sonny, Darrell, and Bobby Malone; and his sister, Anna Young. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Gordon Malone; his son and daughter-in-law, Paxton and Tracey Malone; his grandchildren, Payton (Jacob) Smallwood and Parker Malone (fiancée Madison Davis); his great-granddaughter, Sawyer Smallwood; and his brother, Bill (Alice) Malone.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service will follow, with Reverend Jimmy Davidson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Trinity Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, to proceed to Beeler Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
Pallbearers will be nephews Fred, Burke and Jimmy Arthur, David Lett, and Rodney Malone, along with friend Wayne Middleton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Lett, Fred Simmons, Earl Loy, Mike Duncan, Paul Harrison, Dwight Brantley, and Bill Price.
