John Douglas Reihl

John Douglas Reihl-age 78 of Knoxville passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a United States Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Francis Reihl.

Cremation is planned with interment at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville.

Dennis Paul-age 78 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Dennis was sweet spirited and loved everyone. He enjoyed laughing and joking with his family. He had a soft spot in his heart for animals, often taking care of stray dogs and cats. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Cecil Paul; brothers, JB Paul, Ben Paul, Charles Paul, Bobby Paul, Herbert Paul, James Estel Paul and Stanley Paul; sister, Ruby Moody.

He is survived by one sister, Dolly Buckner, Kokomo, Indiana along with nieces and nephews.

Bill Eugene Evans

Bill Eugene Evans - age 82 of Knoxville, TN passed away peacefully at home with his family on February 22, 2026. He is a member of Carter Road Missionary Baptist Church. In our eyes there was no better Dad. We were blessed to have him; he never failed to tell us to say our prayers every night before we went to sleep. He will be truly missed.

He is preceded in death by parents, Otis and Lucille (Burgin) Flatford; brothers, Brownie, Hubert, Clifford, Paul, Walter and Lester; sisters, Effie, Edith and Zelda. Ermil is survived by son, Chris (Kristy) Flatford; grandchildren, Savannah (Jake) Munsey and Hannah and Leah Flatford; and great grandchildren, Brinnley and Layne Munsey.

Melissa “Lisa” Darlene Washam-age 65 of Luttrell went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 22, 2026. She was a member of the Lighthouse Church, Luttrell. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Roger Washam; parents, Jack and Lillie McAnally; brother, Roy Lee McAnally; brother-in-law, Gary Wood.

She is survived by her grandson, Tyler (Brookelyn) Washam; great granddaughter, who she loved more than anything, Addilyn “Addi” Washam; sisters, Janice Wood, Kelly (Dale) Williams; sister-in-law, Kathy McAnally and several nieces and nephews.

Tony Daniel Carroll-age 47 of New Tazewell passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Preceded in death by his father, Roger Carroll; sister, Tina Farmer.

He is survived by his mother, Charlotte Carroll; sisters, Traci and husband, Tim Brooks, Teresa and husband, Rick Brooks; brothers, Terry and Jennifer Carroll, Todd and Amy Carroll; special aunt and uncle, Donna and Johnny Bottoms and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Earl D. Russell-age 72 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was a man’s man but most important he was a man of Jesus. He loved his grandkids dearly. He was the last one of the best finish carpenters around. He had two wonderful daughters and wonderful son-in-law and ex son-in-law. Preceded in death by his mother, Francine Russell; father, Curtis Russell; brothers and sisters, Wanda, Linda, Wayne, Arnold.

She is preceded in death by husband, Keith Adkins; parents, Wiliam R. and Ora Widner; and brother-in-law, Donald Jenes. Betty Ruth Vandergriff-age 86 of Maynardville, born to Atticus and Rachel Woolard on July 20, 1939, in Union County, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, at the home of her daughter in Brookston, Indiana. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Vandergriff, that she married on July 27, 1956; her parents, Atticus and Rachel Woolard; son, Kenneth Vandergriff; daughter, Vicki Dillie.

Barbara Jeanne Walters Seymour-age 85 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Sunday evening, February 15, 2026, at Claiborne Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and a graduate of Horace Maynard High School, Class of 1959. Barbara was a retired employee of Patterson Brothers Trucking and enjoyed her time serving with the Union County Chamber of Commerce. Preceded in death by daughter, Karen Renee Seymour; parents, Tom and Beulah (Gose) Walters; husband, Walter Seymour.

Karl Alan Naglitch-age 72 of Luttrell passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his home. He was a retired machinist with Tru-Skills Machining, Oak Ridge with 25 years of service. Preceded in death by son, Benjamin Naglitch; granddaughter, Ava Naglitch; parents, Charles and Amelia Naglitch; sister, Janice Johnson.

Chester Butler – age 84 of Union County, Tennessee, passed after an extended battle with pancreatic cancer on February 7, 2026.

He is preceded in death by infant daughter, Kimberly. April Sue (Richardson) Tolliver-age 35 of Andersonville passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Parkwest Medical Center. April was born July 14, 1990, the daughter of the late Barbara Kay Williams and Richard (Bud) Lewis Richardson

April leaves behind her husband, Travis Tolliver (separated); boyfriend Billy Bussell; four children, Laken and Isaak Lawson, twin boys; sister Jessica Richardson; brothers, Steven, Jason, and David; grandmother, Irene Barnard and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

James Franklin Doughty, Jr.-age 64 of Sharps Chapel passed away Saturday morning, February 7, 2026 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He was veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard and a retired electrician. Preceded in death by father, James Franklin Doughty, Sr.; nephew, Jeffery Shrader; brothers-in-law, Larry Shrader and William Jones.

Sherlene Childress

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sherlene Childress, age 76 of Knoxville as she went to be with our Lord Thursday, February 5, 2026. Sherlene loved attending God’s Place Church where she had been a faithful member for many years until her health began to decline. Above anything else, she loved her family and wanted nothing more than to spend time with them.

Sheena Danielle White-age 43 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at her home after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She was a devout Jehovah’s Witness, Halls Congregation. Sheena was a great mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Sheena loved telling anyone she met about her love for her daughter, Harlow and her niece, Navada. She loved planning Disney trips and looking for her next cruise destination.
