Charles William “Chuck” Atnip – 78 of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after chronic lung issues. He was born in Knoxville on April 1, 1948. Chuck was a custom home builder in Monroe and Loudon Counties before retiring and moving to Punta Gorda, Florida for 10 years before returning to the East Tennessee area. He was a 32-degree Mason and 50-year member of Burlington Lodge #763 F & Am as well as a member of Knoxville Scottish Rite Bodies and Kerbela Shriners.

He is preceded in death by mother, Beulah Murray; brothers, Max Ray and James Ray; and sister, Mary Barham Ray. Chuck is survived by wife, Sandy Atnip; daughter, Johnna Atnip; grandson, Kevin Ward; great granddaughter, Brooke Ward; stepdaughter, Vickie Miller; stepson, Brian Goins; four step grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Trinity Funeral Home, Maynardville, has the honor of serving the family of Chuck Atnip.
