Maynardville, Tenn. – Fresh Wagon is celebrating their five year anniversary of providing locally sourced food to families of Union County and the surrounding areas by hosting an event at 12:00pm on June 16th at First Bank Maynardville.

Fresh Wagon is a mobile food distribution program that works to provide community members with local meat, dairy, eggs, honey, jellies, and produce with an emphasis on local farm partnerships. These partnerships have led to over $20,000 being given back to the local food economy.

The Fresh Wagon food distribution program is celebrating five years of serving Union County and surrounding areas. Since its beginning, Fresh Wagon has worked to increase access to fresh and nutritious food while bringing the community together through service and support.

The next Fresh Wagon distribution will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at 1 p.m. at FirstBank, at 2905 Maynardville Hwy, Maynardville, TN 37807. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

The Union County Fresh Wagon program is kicking off its December Food Drive, calling on community members to help support local families during the holiday season. Donations will be accepted through December 12.

This month’s collection focuses on three staple items that will be included in the upcoming Christmas Fresh Wagon distribution: Stuffing mixes, instant mashed potatoes and 16-ounce peanut butter (creamy or crunchy).

As the holiday season approaches, the Union County Fresh Wagon program is asking for the community’s help to collect non-perishable food items for local families in need. Donations will be accepted November 1-14, and every contribution helps make a difference for a neighbor this holiday season.

We are currently collecting boxes of stuffing mix, packages of instant mashed potatoes and boxes of macaroni and cheese. Any brands and sizes are acceptable.
