On Tuesday, July 22nd, a group of Union County 4-H’ers gathered at the Union County Extension Office to participate in a special sewing service project benefitting the Union County Humane Society (UCHS). The youth spent the day sewing cozy cat bed blankets to provide comfort for the shelter’s feline residents.

The service project not only gave the 4-H’ers an opportunity to sharpen their sewing skills, but also allowed them to make a positive impact in their community. After completing the cat blankets, the group delivered them to UCHS and enjoyed some quality time petting and interacting with the cats.

The visit served as a reminder of the important role animal shelters play in our community—and how small acts of service can go a long way in supporting them.
