Union County 4-H’ers Enjoy an Unforgettable Week at Junior 4-H Camp

Union County 4-H members recently returned from an exciting and fun-filled week at Junior 4-H Camp, held June 9–13 at Clyde Austin 4-H Center in Greeneville, Tennessee. Our campers spent the week learning, growing, and making lasting memories with fellow 4-H’ers from across the region.
Throughout the week, youth participated in a wide range of hands-on activities including swimming, fishing, canoeing, archery, shooting sports, wildlife education, leather crafting, tie-dye, STEM experiments, and more. They also enjoyed campfire programs, nightly dances, and fun-filled assemblies that brought plenty of laughs and energy to the week.
Union County 4-H would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our male volunteer, Dustin Reno, who gave his time and energy to attend camp and support our youth throughout the week. We are also incredibly proud of our Teen Leaders, Jaelyn Cummings and Ayden Nicely, who helped lead activities, mentored younger campers, and served as outstanding role models.
A special thank you goes to Cheryl Walker for volunteering to assist with Monday morning check-in and helping us get camp off to a smooth start.
We also want to recognize and thank all of our generous sponsors who made this experience possible. Your support helped send Union County youth to camp and create memories they will never forget.
Lastly, we’d like to thank Tractor Supply Company in Halls for allowing our 4-H members to participate in the Paper Clover Campaign during the fall and spring. These funds play a vital role in helping youth attend 4-H events like summer camp.
Looking ahead, the 2025 Winter Paper Clover Campaign is scheduled for November 28 – December 14, 2025. Be sure to watch the UT Extension Union County Facebook page this fall for information on sign-up dates and how youth can get involved.
