Living Well with Chronic Conditions Program Coming to Union County
Living Well with Chronic Conditions is a 6-week workshop series designed to help community members manage their long-term health issues effectively. Chronic conditions of those attending may include asthma, arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, chronic pain, sleep apnea, or fibromyalgia, among others.
If you or someone you care for has a chronic disease, you are encouraged to attend this series. The program is designed to address important topics such as finding effective and healthy ways to deal with pain and fatigue, improving nutrition and exercise habits, exploring treatment options, managing medication side effects, communicating effectively with health care professionals, and ultimately leading a fuller and healthier life.
Beginning April 23, the Union County Health Department and University of Tennessee Extension will offer this free Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop at the Union County Senior Center. The program will be held on Thursdays—April 23 and 30, and May 7, 14, 21, and 28—from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
The Living Well with Chronic Conditions Program is led by trained facilitators certified through the Stanford University Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. Participants are encouraged to actively engage in each session, share experiences, and work together to set and achieve personal health goals.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
