Last Call to Register for “Take Charge of Your Diabetes” Class in Union County

Union County residents are reminded that registration is closing soon for the upcoming Take Charge of Your Diabetes education program offered by the University of Tennessee Extension. This free, evidence-based workshop is designed to help individuals with diabetes gain confidence and practical skills to better manage their health.

The six-week class will be held on January 13, 20, and 27, and February 3, 10, and 17, from 12:30–2:30 p.m. at the Union County Senior Center. While the program is free to attend, registration is required, and the deadline to register is noon on Monday, January 12, 2026.

Take Charge of Your Diabetes is a supportive, group-based workshop that helps participants learn how to manage symptoms, improve nutrition and physical activity, communicate effectively with healthcare providers, and reduce the daily challenges that often come with diabetes. The program is designed to empower participants to feel more in control of their health and overall well-being.

The workshop is suitable for adults living with diabetes as well as caregivers or family members who want to better support a loved one.
