Green Bean Food Preservation Class

Fresh green bean season is here, making it the perfect time to learn how to safely preserve your harvest for months to come. The University of Tennessee Extension in Union County is offering a hands-on Green Bean Food Preservation Class on Saturday, July 11, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Union County Farmers Market, located at 115 Durham Drive in Maynardville.

This class will focus on pressure canning green beans, an essential skill for anyone interested in preserving low-acid vegetables safely. Participants will receive step-by-step instruction using research-based food preservation methods approved by the USDA and the University of Tennessee Extension.

Whether you're new to canning or looking to refresh your skills, this class will provide the knowledge and confidence needed to safely preserve green beans at home. The cost is $45 per person, which includes all jars, ingredients, and supplies used during the class. Each participant will also take home jars of the green beans they preserve.

Registration is required, and space is limited.

Register today by scanning the QR code on the event flyer or by visiting tiny.utk.edu/UnionFCSAgStore.
