Bill Kitts-age 76 of Maynardville passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Private interment Monday at the Haynes Cemetery, Maynardville. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
Jerry Wolfenbarger – age 66 of Heiskell, passed away April 29, 2021 at his home.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Wolfenbarger; and parents, Horace and Margaret Wolfenbarger. Jerry is survived by his girlfriend, Sally Hennessy; granddaughter, Kinslee Jennings, his pride and joy and brother, Harvey (Sandra) Wolfenbarger.
Larry J. Hunter-age 67 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 22, 2021 at U. T. Medical Center. He was a member of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly, Luttrell. Larry was a retired employee of Rogers Group Construction. Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Minnie Hunter; son, Larry Charles (Chuck) Hunter.
Brenda Kay Hughes-age 77 of Maynardville passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Willow Ridge Center which had been her home for the past six years. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Preceded in death by parents. Loyd Hughes and Ada Gibson. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Survivors: daughter, Debra Diehlman of Alma, Michigan; son, Eric Diehlman; four grandchildren, Christopher Diehlman, Miguel Dominquez, David Diehlman, Adam Diehlman; brothers, Loyd “Buddy” Hughes and David Hughes. Several nieces and nephews along with many friends at Willow Ridge Center.
David L. Hurst-age 72 of Maynardville went to his Heavenly home Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at his home. He was a member and deacon of Raccoon Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Jim and Ruby Hurst; one sister, Kay Evans; six brothers, Johnny, Bud, Jerry, Ben, Bob and Sonny Hurst.
Ina Mae Williams-age 71 of Luttrell went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by family and friends following a ten-year illness. She was a member of Emory Road Missionary Baptist Church and was a former cafeteria employee at Luttrell Elementary School. Preceded in death by parents, Daniel and Louise (Carver) Wolfenbarger, brothers, Paul Wolfenbarger, James Wolfenbarger, age 5 and sister, Della Ruth Wolfenbarger, age 7; brother-in-law, Onas Conwell.
Terri Fernandez – age 59 of Maynardville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Terri was born in Sarasota, Florida and raised in Tampa. Terri’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Terri was always seeking a new adventure and loved camping, the mountains and going to the beach in her RV. She proudly shared her salvation with others and always looked forward to attending Corryton Church where she was a member. Terri was a nurse and had a passion for helping others.
William “Bill” Anderson Acuff – age 94 of Washburn, passed away April 19, 2021. Bill was a U. S. Army Veteran, a member of the Honor Guard and VFW. He always enjoyed going to see his other family at Giles Flea Market.
Kenneth Lee Hensley-age 82 of Maynardville went to be with Jesus Saturday afternoon at North Knoxville Medical Center while surrounded by his beloved family. Proceeded in death by parents, Verlin and Ruth Hensley, son-in-law, Larry “Jake” Woolard.
In loving memory of Emil Ratliff-age 98 of Defiance, Ohio, formerly of Maynardville who was brought into this life September 17, 1922, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 in Defiance, Ohio. Emil married Curtis Ratliff July 14, 1945. She was preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Curtis Ratliff; three sons, Danny Ratliff, Donnie Ratliff and Arnold Curtis Ratliff.
Audley “Squirt” Mitchell – age 87 of Maynardville, passed away peacefully April 13, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and a longtime employee of Coca Cola Company. Roddy Manufacturing.
Maggie Dykes – age 93 of Sharps Chapel, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Thursday, April 8, 2021. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Voyd C. Keck, age 90 of Halls, formerly of Union Co., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Halls. Graduated class of 1950, Horace Maynard High School. Retired from University of Tennessee Physical Plant as General Supt. of structural maintenance. He was a 49-year member of Masters Lodge #244 F. & A.M. K.C.C.H. Scottish Rite of Knoxville, Areme Chapter #466 O.E.S.
Mitchell Steven Beason-age 68 of Luttrell passed away Friday morning, April 2, 2021 at his home. He was a Christian and had a great love of dogs, cats and all animals. Preceded in death by parents, Mitchell Lee and Martha (Woods) Beason; siblings, Lucille Ford, Gene Beason, Agnes Dyer, Bernice Vaught, Mary Beeler along with several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Arlene “Leigh” McFarren-age 63 of Corryton passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her home. She was a member of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly, Luttrell. She was an employee of Knox County Sheriff’s Office for the past six years, formerly with T.V.A.
She was a loving wife, mother and nana. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Sophie Holly and Grandma Betty who raised her.
Claude Johnny Cosby, Jr.-age 72 of New Tazewell passed away peacefully Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home. Preceded in death by granddaughter, Kenya Bree.
Rev. Clarence E. Bull-age 92 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at his home. Preceded in death by parents, Silas A. and Murlie Burke Bull; brothers, Lloyd Bull, Junior Bull; sisters, Billie Bruner, Edith Pratt and infant sister, Sue Ann Bull; great-grandson, Brayden William Frye; father and mother-in-law, Rev. Fate and Etta Oaks; brother-in-law, L. G. Oaks.
Michael Wayne “Mike” Snelson-age 59 of Maynardville passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at his home. Mike loved fishing, camping and the lake life. Mike was preceded in death by mother, Mary Ruth Snelson; brothers, Rick and Tommy Snelson.
Larry Eugene Norris – age 76 of Andersonville, born June 10, 1944 passed away at U. T. Hospital at 3:30 a.m., March 26, 2021. He was saved at age 12 at Snoddley Baptist Church and joined Macedonia Baptist at age 14.
He is preceded in death by father, Tommy Norris; brother, David Norris; and grandson, Adam Norris. Larry is survived by wife, Dora Johnson Norris; son, Roger Norris; mother, Mable Norris; aunt, Ruby McBee Hutchison; brother-in-law, Gary Johnson; cousin, Yvonne Foust; special friends, Ricky Hutchison and Betty Waggoner; and pets, Oscar and Lily.
