Vonnie Lorene Stanifer, born February 28, 1925, passed away January 22, 2018. Vonnie was a loving wife and mother and a doting grandmother. She loved the Lord and had conversations with Jesus for two days before she peacefully passed at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was one of the oldest active members of Texas Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Stanifer; and parents, Reed & Mamie Welch.
Georgia L. Beeler Miller, age 92, of Halls Crossroads went to be with the Lord on January 22, 2018. She was a member of Emory Valley Missionary Baptist Church. Georgia is preceded in death by husband Jasper Delone Miller; son Andrew Curtis Miller; granddaughter Kay Michelle Miller Keck; parents Mach and Lennie Beeler; sisters Lela Stiner (Frank) and Myrtle Graves; brothers Hugh Beeler (Ethel), Clarence Beeler (Lilis) and Otis Beeler (Alice).
Barbara Jean Watson, 86, left this world surrounded by family to be with her husband Reece, children Fran, Teresa, Charlotte, Steve and grandson Tony. She will be missed by many especially her children Willy, Marty, CarolAnn and their families and friends. In lieu of flowers please make donations to help with funeral expenses. Lewis Lee Wendover, age 71, of Hannibal, New York passed away January 21, 2018. Lewis was a sports enthusiast, who loved playing tennis and going fishing. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Lewis was a physical education coach and teacher for the Miami, Florida school district. Lewis is preceded in death by parents Marjorie and Roscoe Wendover. He is survived by wife of 47 years Sue Wendover, daughter Erin (Patrick) Plyler, grandchildren Carson and Caroline Plyler, and sister Ann Louise Schneider. She was preceded in death by her husband Avrell Harding Graves, infant daughter Kathy Elaine, parents Oscar and Ruby (Murray) Hinton, brothers James and Wallace, and sisters Mildred, Catherine, and Lorena.
Irene Foster, age 89, of Powell, passed away Friday morning, January 19, 2018 at home with her loving husband by her side. She was a long-time member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher & Nola Carden and 9 brothers and sisters.
Barbara Jean Smart Rhyne, age 79, of Powell, passed away at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center on Friday, January 19, 2018 after a short illness. She was a member of The Church at Sterchi Hills. Jean retired from First Tennessee Bank as a Loan Officer after 20 plus years of dedicated service. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Haskew & Lucille Smart; and brother, Johnny Smart.
Mitchell “Mike” Parsley, age 87, born July 18, 1930 in Mt. Sterling, NC, was called home to be with Jesus on January 17, 2018. He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Mike was a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help others. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was proud of his family.
Anna Lou (Needham) Bolden-age 78 of Washburn went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January18, 2018 at Ridgeview Terrace. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, Luttrell. She was preceded in death by husband, Adam Harlis Bolden; sons, Adam Troy and Anthony Harlis (Tony) Bolden; parents, Burchell and Rena (Lee) Needham; brother, Lloyd Needham; sisters, Juanita Monroe and Ilene Atkins; special nieces, Pat Phipps and Linda Munsey.
Bonnie L. Gray, age 68 of Corryton, TN, went to be with the Lord January 17, 2018. Preceded in death by husband Robert Gray and step-son Jason Gray. Survived by daughter Christin Miller and husband Troy; sons David and wife Kim Gray, and Rob Gray; grandchildren Zachary, Darrin, and Katie Miller, Garrett, Nate, and Kaylee Gray; siblings Betty (Kenneth), Willie (Calvin), John (Carolyn); several nieces and nephews. Johnny Allen Braden age 44 of Powder Springs went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Johnny had made many friends and had built many houses in the area He was preceded in death by his mother; Diann Elliot. He is survived by his; wife, several aunts and uncles as well as his nieces and nephews.
At his request, private services will be conducted at a later date.

Leo Oszust, known as “JaJa”-age 95 of Maynardville, formerly of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2018 at his home. He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in New Tazewell since moving to Tennessee in 1992. Leo was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his; wife, Lorraine Oszust.

Peggy Loucille Rouse - Age 76 of Sharps Chapel. Born July 21, 1941, went to be with her Lord and Savior January 17, 2018. She was a longtime member of Taylor’s Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by parents; John Elmer and Betty (Sharp) Rouse. Survived by sister and brother- in- law; Mary Evelyn and Wayne Beason, special nephew: Darrell Beason and a host of other family and friends. She will be truly missed by all her loved ones.
Patricia Conalee “Gummy” Walker, age 82, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday January 16, 2018. She was proudly born in Honolulu Hawaii. She is survived by son Charles S. Robin Lynn (Cummings) Chitwood, age 55 of Clinton, passed away on January 14, 2018. The Bible tells us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Robin met her Savior and is experiencing a joy that we cannot even begin to comprehend. Therefore, we will praise the Lord at all times and His praise will always be on our lips (Psalm 34:1), for we know that Jesus is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him (Luke 20:38). Robin was born on February 12, 1962 to the late Tommy and Dorothy Cummings.
Clyde Earl Hall Sr. born April 8, 1930, passed away January 12, 2018. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. He was a Korean War veteran where he received a Purple Heart. Clyde retired as a Captain from Knoxville Police Department after 30 years of service. Survived by son Kenneth Hall, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law. Family will receive friends 2:00p.m.-3:00p.m. Saturday January 20, 2018 at Sharon Baptist Church with service to follow, Dr. Jim Robertson and Rev. Mike McCoig officiating. Family and friends will then dismiss to Sharon Baptist Church for interment.
Ruby Lee Trentham Harris, age 70 of Halls, passed away January 13, 2018. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She retired from Gerdau Ameristeel after many years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a jewel to all who loved her. Preceded in death by parents William and Laura Trentham; brothers William, Ted, and Fred Trentham; sister Jane Hillon. Survived by children Richard Harris and wife Ann and Suzanne Harris Jones; grandsons Lucas Jones and Zach Harris; nephews Ron and Jeffrey Trentham; niece Melissa Competiello; sister-in-law Hazel Trentham.
Shirley Ann Williams Yates-age 81 of Blaine passed away Sunday morning, January 14, 2018 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Indian Ridge Baptist Church. She was born September 17, 1936 the daughter of the late Everett and Ethel (Grubb) Williams; also preceded in death by brothers, Gene, Norman, Tommy, Paul and Carroll Williams.
