Joyce Ann Hamilton Hill, age 80, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. She was a school teacher for 37 years, mostly at Brickey McCloud Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Lee Hill. She is survived by sons, David Wayne Hill (Cynthia) and Alan Lee Hill (Kelly); grandchildren, Chad, Tyler (Haley), Stephanie, Katie and Evan; great-grandchildren, Robert Lee and Oliver Mitchell. Bryan Kennedy Montooth-age 71 of Luttrell passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at his home. He was preceded in death by father, Ted Montooth; mother, Evelyn Montooth.

He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Mary Lee Montooth; brothers, Mike and Leslie Montooth; foster son, Chris Shannon; niece, Joni Rogers and her husband, Michael Rogers, Sr.; great-nephew, Robert Johnson; great-niece, Jazmine Rogers. Best friends, Ronnie Green, Brian Rains and Bert Rosenbaum.

Douglas Macathur “Doug” Nichols age 75 of Fountain City passed away after a long illness Saturday, March 24, 2018 with his wife Judy by his side. Member of New Beverly Baptist Church, Fountain City Lodge #757, 32nd Degree Mason and Shriners with Kerbella Temple. Veteran of The United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a longtime realtor in the Knoxville area beginning his career with Volunteer Realty and retiring form Rocky Top Realty. During his real-estate career, Deborah Black, Harry Bacon, and Sonny Mullins helped build Doug’s career.

Lucille Chesney-age 86 of Maynardville passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018 with family at the bedside. She was born May 31, 1931 the daughter of the late Lee and Ollie Tharp of Luttrell. She was a retired employee of Tom’s Food LTD with 45 years of service. Following retirement, she enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren and church activities. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Luttrell. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hoover Chesney; her parents, siblings, Pearlie Muncey, John Tharp, Esky Tharp, Mabel Tharp, Rosell Tharp and Inez Brown.

Bobby Ray Shankles, age 63, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was an Army Veteran, a hard worker, and a loving father. He is preceded in death by father, Charles R. Shankles. He is survived by daughters, Genevieli Pilayo (Chad) and Denise Shankles, grandchildren, Keawe’iwi, Kapuanalani, Keolamauloa, and Kinohi, mother, Edith Lee Hargis Shankles, brothers, Willis Shankles (Charlotte), Charles T. Shankles (Charlotte), and Danny Shankles (Terry), as well as several niece, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Family will meet at Roseberry Cemetery Wednesday, March 28, 2018. 1:45 for a 2:00 p.m.

Dr. Tony Sizemore, Ph.D.-age 77 of Maynardville, formerly of Harlan County, Kentucky went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 24, 2018 at his home. He was a member of The Church of God of the Union Assemble, Keith Avenue, Knoxville. He held a Ph.D. in Theology from Heritage Bible College. He pastored and ministered at several area churches and churches in different states. He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Cora Sizemore.

Charlotte Alana Ridenour-age 69 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Ft. Sander’s Regional Medical Center. Preceded in death by son, Randy Ridenour; parents, mother, Eula Vee Ridenour; fathers, Lillard Ray and Wade Ridenour; sisters, Pat (Spooks) Ricker; Bobbie Ray; brother, Jack Painter. Charlotte was a loving mother and grandmother.

Anna Mae Mason – age 91 of Maynardville, was called home at 1:18 p.m., Tuesday, March 20, 2018. She was a longtime member of Hubbs Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by husband, William Berl Mason. Anna is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Debbie Mason and Kenneth and Shelia Mason; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Ellen Williams; brothers, Tommy Perry and Fred Perry; and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda Gail Kiser – 68 of Maynardville, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away at home surrounded by loved ones. Brenda was of the Baptist faith.

Michael “Shane” Guinn age 40 of Knoxville passed away March 18, 2018. He was a loving son, brother and uncle. Allan “Buck” Smith, age 77, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2018. He was a member of The Church at Sterchi Hills and was retired from KUB. He was preceded in death by wife, Judy Smith; parents, Paul and Carrie Smith; sisters, Joanne and Lois; brother Ed. He is survived by son, Neil Smith (Tina); brother Tommy; sister, Sylvia; granddaughter Kaitlin and numerous extended family and friends. Ruby King, age 95, of Knoxville, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 15th, 2018. She was a wonderful mother who will be greatly missed. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Pinkton “Pink” Tolbert, son Donald King and daughter Peggy Seavers. She is survived by daughter Pat Bradley, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchild, and numerous extended family and friends. Steven Powers, age 68, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 15th, 2018. He was preceded in death by parents Lewis and Mary Powers, grandmother Anna Arnold, aunt Laura Henderson, uncle Joe Church, brother-in-law Kenneth Trent, niece Michelle Durbrow, great-niece Holland Durbrow. He is survived by sisters Debra Trent and Diane Vineyard, brother-in-law Donnie Roach. Franklin Danny Hayes – age 75 of Maynardville, Tennessee passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, March 15, 2018. He was born March 31, 1942 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was saved in 1956 at the age of 14 during a revival at Hines Creek Baptist Church and is a member of Community Baptist Church. Frank retired from Coca-Cola after 25 years of service and enjoyed working outside, sports, and his grandchildren.

Jonathan Michael Whitson – age 45 of Maynardville, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018. He was of the Baptist faith.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Whitson; and grandparents, Virgie and James Whitson. He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Nicholas and Jaylan Shane Whitson; mother, Rita Grahl; sisters, Chaunta (Chuck) Boggs and Angela (Billy) Wilkerson; brother, Darren (Kim) Whitson; nieces, Hannah Whitson and Kaylee Wilkerson; and nephew, Hunter Collins.

Russell A. Baker, age 85, of Luttrell, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord March 15, 2018. He was preceded in death by wife of 52 years Stella Baker; and parents Edward F. and Anna Mae Baker. Russell is survived by daughter Arawanaha Hickey (Jackie), daughter Pat Ramsey (Patrick), daughter Alice Norman (Nathan), son Bill Baker (Lena), daughter Judy White, daughter Hazel Key, daughter Anna Hinshaw (Wes), daughter Kim Cochran (Wayne), son Rick Baker (Shelia), 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, along with many other loved ones and friends.

Christopher Michael Grissom, age 35, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, March 12th, 2018. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by father Michael Grissom; grandfather Robert Norton; and grandparents Lonzo and Cleo Grissom. He is survived by mother Cathy Norton Grissom; sister Sarah Grissom; aunts Robin Melton, Lucie Kelly; uncle Ernest Norton, wife Nancy, Janice Lamb, husband Steve; many cousins, extended family and special friends, whom he loved dearly.

Charlotte Ruth Huskey Cox, age 81, of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, March 12th, 2018. She was an organist at Macedonia Baptist Church, had a passion for singing, and teaching Sunday school class. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and especially enjoyed her pets. Charlotte was preceded in death by husband Jay Cox, parents Henry and Hazel Huskey, and sister Barbara Ann Catlett.

Opal Mae Adcock, age 88, of Knoxville Tennessee passed away peacefully at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center on March 12th, 2018. Opal was a longtime member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Reverend Paul Adcock and son Larry Adcock. She is survived by sister Faye Breeden, daughters: Carol Wilson, Mary Miranda, and Brenda (Rex) Berry, daughter in law Darla Adcock, grandchildren: Amanda Elkins, Jason Adcock, Kelley Adcock and Isaac McCroskey, several great-grandchildren, and also one great-great- grandchild.
