Union County FCE Celebrates Spring Luncheon with Patriotic Theme
The Union County Family and Community Education (FCE) Clubs recently gathered for their annual Spring Luncheon at the Union County Extension Office, celebrating fellowship, creativity, and community spirit with a festive red, white, and blue patriotic theme in honor of the 250th anniversary celebration.
Members and guests enjoyed a delicious “American Picnic” themed potluck meal featuring a variety of picnic favorites and homemade dishes. Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed entertainment and activities, including patriotic music performed by Lynn Prichard-Dykes and a fun trivia game led by Carol Pratt.
One of the highlights of the event was the annual Cultural Arts Contest and Fashion Revue Contest. FCE members showcased their talents through a variety of beautiful entries, including oil paintings, stained glass, mosaic art, quilts, crocheted items, sewing projects, clothing, and other handmade creations. The contests highlighted the many skills and talents of Union County FCE members while promoting lifelong learning and creativity.
Winners from the county contests will have the opportunity to advance to the Eastern Region competitions this fall.
The Union County FCE would like to thank everyone who attended, entered contests, brought food, helped decorate, and worked behind the scenes to make the event a success. Special appreciation goes to all volunteers and members whose hard work helped create such a memorable day of fellowship and fun.
Community members are invited to attend the next Union County FCE meeting on Thursday, June 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the Union County Extension Office. Visitors and new members are always welcome to attend and learn more about Family and Community Education programs and activities.
