Summer Fest set for May 8

Union County residents are invited to make plans now to attend the upcoming Party in the Park: Summer Fest, happening next week at Wilson Park. Hosted by the Union County Community Advisory Board (CAB), this free, family-friendly event will take place on Friday, May 8, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The event is designed to bring the community together for an evening of fun, connection, and access to valuable local resources. A variety of community organizations will be on site sharing information about programs and services available to Union County families.

Attendees of all ages can enjoy a wide range of activities, including games, face painting, chalk art, bubbles and more. A game zone and interactive booths will provide entertainment for children and families throughout the evening.

Guests will also have the opportunity to receive free giveaways—including items such as helmets, diapers and wipes, and fresh produce—while supplies last. In addition, raffle prizes will be given away during the event.

Concessions will be available for purchase, offering a selection of food and refreshments.

Safety will also be a focus, with opportunities for car seat checks and information on topics such as sun safety and boating safety to help families prepare for the summer season.

The evening will conclude with a free outdoor movie at dark. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the movie comfortably.

Organizers encourage all community members to attend and take part in this opportunity to connect, learn and celebrate the start of summer together.
