Heritage Festival call to artists
2024 Best Heritage Award Lisa Crist's painting received the Best Heritage Award for interpreting the Festival theme, Remembering Grandpa.The 2025 theme is Plowing the Fields.
Get your paintbrush, camera, carving tools, lathes, potters’ wheel, stitching needles or any other artistic tool ready to create a piece to enter the Union County Heritage Art Show on October 4.
Betty Bullen, noted regional artist from Union County, will again host the event at the Historic Snodderly House at 721 Main Street in Maynardville. There will be cash prizes and ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in two-dimensional art, three-dimensional art and photography. A subcategory of fabric art will also be recognized. Entries may capture a prize ribbon for Best of Show, Best Heritage, or an Honorable Mention.
The show is a juried mixed-media exhibition open to artists of all ages. The exhibition is intended to showcase artwork produced throughout our area. There is no entry fee.
All 2-D art needs to be framed or mounted to be suitable for hanging. Framing is optional for photography but highly encouraged.

September 30, Tuesday – Deliver art 1 to 3 p.m.
October 1, Wednesday – Jury (Judging)
October 2, Thursday – Early public viewing and Art Show Reception and Awards 5 to 7 p.m.
October 4, Saturday –Festival Art Show 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pick up art 4 to 5 p.m.
