Union County FCE Prepares for Busy Fall Season

Union County Family and Community Education (FCE) members are gearing up for a busy fall filled with service projects, educational opportunities, and special events.

At the August 21 meeting, the group will host a yard sale fundraiser at the Union County Extension Office from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Proceeds will support community programs, educational outreach, and service projects throughout the year.

Looking ahead, FCE members will take part in FCE Day at the Tennessee Valley Fair on Monday, September 9, in Knoxville. The theme for this year’s event is “Goat Big, Blossom Bright.” Members will carpool from the Union County Extension Office to participate in a day of fellowship, learning, and fun at the fair.

The Region FCE Meeting is also on the calendar for Monday, September 15, at the Sullivan County Extension Office in Blountville. With the theme “It’s Harvest Time in FCE,” this event will feature educational sessions, cultural arts displays, and opportunities for members to connect with others across East Tennessee.

In addition, members are preparing for the always-popular Union County Heritage Festival, where FCE will once again host the Pie and Cake Contests. Community bakers will have the chance to showcase their skills and compete for prizes, with proceeds from sales benefiting FCE programming.
