Union County CAB to Host “Party in the Park: Summer Fest” on May 8

Union County families are invited to kick off the summer season with an evening of fun, resources, and community connection at the upcoming Party in the Park: Summer Fest, hosted by the Union County Community Advisory Board (CAB).

The event will take place on Friday, May 8, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Wilson Park, and is free and open to the public.

This family-friendly celebration will feature a community resource fair, where local organizations will be set up to share valuable information, services, and support available throughout Union County. Attendees will also have the chance to enjoy a variety of activities including a game zone, face painting, giant yard games, and interactive booths for all ages.

In addition to the fun, guests can take advantage of free giveaways such as helmets, diapers and wipes, fresh produce, and more (while supplies last). There will also be raffle prizes, cornhole, chalk art, bubbles, and more exciting activities for families to enjoy.

Safety education will also be a highlight of the evening, with opportunities for car seat checks, as well as information on sun safety and boating safety—helping families stay safe while enjoying the summer months.

Concessions will be available for purchase, offering a variety of food and treats throughout the evening.

As the sun sets, the event will wrap up with a free outdoor movie at dark. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax and enjoy the show under the stars.

“Party in the Park is a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, connect with local resources, and simply have fun,” organizers shared. “We are excited to offer an event that truly has something for everyone.”

Community partners from across the region will be participating, making this a great chance to learn more about the services and programs available in Union County.

Mark your calendars and make plans to join the Union County CAB for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship as the community comes together to celebrate the start of summer.
