Free Deer Processing Class Offered in Corryton

The Union County Extension Office will host a free Deer Processing Class on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Johnson’s Deer Processing, 520 W Mountain View Rd, Corryton, TN 37721. The class is presented by Union County Extension’s Family and Consumer Science Agent with several guest presenters.

This special program is designed for hunters, new hunters, and anyone interested in sharpening their skills. The class will feature a live field dressing demonstration led by Tyler Johnson of Johnson’s Deer Processing, along with instruction on breaking down a deer into different cuts of meat. Participants will also receive information on venison recipes and safe preservation techniques.

In addition, Brandon Webster and his tracking dog, Copper, of Rack Rescue will present on the role of deer tracking services in successful harvest recovery. Other guest presenters will also provide insight and answer questions.
