Winter Court Candidates Change UC Lives
Winter Court was held between the boys' and girls' games against Washburn. Candidates representing their class lined the gym as the winner was announced. Everyone joined together to contribute to a school-wide food drive. Together, they made it their mission to reach all parts of the county to round up non-perishable food donations. Katie Johnson & Brandon Reed represented the senior class, Ashlyn Bucker & Miles Justice represented the junior class, Savannah Dyer & Tate Sykes represented the sophomore class, and Mylee Martin & Zander Stedam represented the freshman class. In total, all candidates raised 47,824 points to support local food pantries. The winners of last year’s competition, Milah Hickle and Darren Truan, crowned Savannah and Tate as the winners for the 2026 court. The sophomore duo raised 30,331 in monetary donations and non-perishable food donations for families in need in Union County. Ashlyn and Miles were the first runners-up. Congratulations, Patriots!
Senior Night was also held right before the Winter Court assembly. Dance has one senior this season, Milah Hickle. Cheerleading has two seniors, Raleigh Korth and Emily Sizemore. The Lady Patriots have two seniors, Savannah Bannister and Kailei Beeler. The Patriots also have two seniors, Kaden Carroll and Skyler Miracle. Each senior walked with their escorts to the gym to celebrate all their accomplishments in their UC athletic career. Congratulations to our Patriot Seniors!
The Friday night game was filled with fans and supporters for both Winter Court and Senior Night. Along with a student section, everyone joined to create a fun environment for the entirety of the games.
