Doris Annette Lindsey

Doris Annette Hickle Lindsey, age 78, of Strawberry Plains, TN fell asleep in death September 8, 2020 at home in Florida. She was an avid worshiper of Jehovah and lover of the written word. She fancied all things butterflies and felt the best color for the world was purple. She loved her family fiercely and lived life vivaciously. She is preceded in death by husband Paul Lindsey, daughter, Deborah Lindsey, father, Reverend James V. Hickle, mothers’ Anna McDaniel and Betha Goin.

Ricky Lynn "Burt" Savage

Ricky Lynn (Burt) Savage-age 59 of Washburn passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 11, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lori Savage; parents, Delmer and Peggy Savage; siblings, Ray Savage, Kay Savage and Pamela Gail Riffey.

Anna Lou McCarty

Anna Lou “Nanny” McCarty-age 78 of Maynardville passed away Thursday morning, September 10, 2020 at her home. She was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church in Sharps Chapel. Preceded in death by parents, Darris Dewey and Birdie Reagan; husband, James Hershell McCarty; sons, J. D., Marvin and Daniel McCarty; twin-sons, Larry and Loren McCarty; granddaughter, Brandy McCarty; sister, Ruth Reagan; brothers, Johnny, Joe, Donald, Lee and Ronnie Reagan.

Elizabeth "Libby" Anne Walker

Elizabeth (Libby) Anne Walker, 57, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2020. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, member of Union Baptist Church of Halls.
She is preceded in death by her father, Stanley Kirby, mother, Sunya Lynch, and brother, Jeffrey Kirby.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Walker, sons, Keith (Sarah) and Eric Walker, mother-in-law, Margaret Walker, sister-in-law, Karen Walker, sisters Kim (Mike) Yarnell and Sheri Young, grandchildren, Aimee and Haelie Thompson, Sunya, Brent, and Austin Walker.

Karen Michelle Abner-Boling-age 46 of Maynardville passed away Sunday morning, September 6, 2020 at home. She attended The House of God Worship Center, New Tazewell and was an assistant manager of the E Z Rental, Knoxville. Karen was a wonderful Mother and was loved by many. Preceded in death by father, William L. Abner.

Kay Perry Hall

Kay (Perry) Hall-age 85 of Sharps Chapel passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020 at the home of her nephew, Richard Cantor. She formerly resided in Willoughby, Ohio for over 30 years before returning to Tennessee in 1992. She was of the Jehovah’s Witnesses faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burrell Hall; parents, Arther and Martha Perry; brothers and sisters, Verlin, Jesse, Tyson, Andy, Carl, Robert, Wannie, Franklin, Ailene, Leah and Sara.

Myrtle (Osborne) Nicely

Myrtle (Osborne) Nicely – 87 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord, September 3, 2020. She was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by parents, Clella and Viola Osborne; husband, Cecil; daughter, Robin; granddaughter, LaVonda. Myrtle is survived by daughter, Vickie Ryder (David McCarroll) sons, Toney, Freddie (Shirley) and Calvin; siblings, Kenneth Osborne and Barbara Paul; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; and four great - great grandchildren. The family wishes to express special thanks to all the staff at Willow Ridge Center.

Charlotte Louise Ellis, age 76, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord August 29, 2020. She was preceded in death by parents, Helen Jones and William “Bob” McMurray, step-father, Leroy Jones, siblings, Bobbie “Bobbie Jo” McMurray, William “Bud” McMurray, and Sally, David, and Steven Jones, and fathers of her children, William E. Sweat and Bill Ellis.

Durandon Leith Chandler

Durandon Leith Chandler-age 42 of Luttrell passed away suddenly Tuesday evening, September 1, 2020 at his home. He was a member of Mountain View Church of God. He was a very avid fan of U. T. sports and was a loving brother, uncle and friend. Preceded in death by parents, B. L. and Reba (Bays) Chandler; sisters, Reneda Lee and Francine Chandler.

Dannie Peters

Dannie Peters-age 65 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Monday evening, August 31, 2020 at his home. He was saved at an early age at Blue Springs Baptist Church. Dannie was a loyal member of Blazing Star Lodge No. 455 F. & A.M. He was a wonderfully talented musician and was an original member of the well-known Betterway Quartet. He had a faithful passion for music and singing for the Lord. He had an incredible love for God, his family and special friends, Star and Snoopy.

Kyle Junior Gentry

Kyle Junior Gentry – 76 of Maynardville, passed away August 29, 2020. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Kyle loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and his church.

He is preceded in death by parents, Tilman and Ruth Gentry; and sister, Kathy Hayes. Kyle is survived by wife of 33 years, Betty Gentry; children, Angie (Steve) Longley, Kevin Gentry, Greg (Robin) Gentry, Kristi (James) Burbage, Brandy (Kirt) Walker and Tonya (Daniel) Henry; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Laverne and Judy; brother, General; and many nieces and nephews.

Obituary of Elmer Earl Mullins

Elmer Earl Mullins born June 21, 1952 and passed away August 27, 2020. Son of the late David and Mary Kitts Mullins who preceded him in death along with his niece Tiffany. Survivors include his husband Tim Steinke; brother and sister-in-law Sam and Reva Mullins; and many friends. A lifelong resident of Knoxville and Powell; graduate of Powell High School and the University of Tennessee. Elmer was a visual display manager at Sears, Target and Kohl’s, he also had a cleaning business. Services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

David Edwin Dowling

David Edwin Dowling, age 65, of Powell, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020. He had a deep love of animals, gardening, antiques, trading, hunting and fishing. David was always willing to help his friends and family when ever they called. He was the center of any gathering and was often found surrounded by laughing friends and family, with a smile on his face, while he told a wild story or joke. David was a larger than life man who touched so many peoples lives and will be so greatly missed.

Travis Von Fachin

Travis Von Fachin, age 48, of Bearden passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his home. Retired from the United States Navy, and very dedicated to the service of his country, serving on the Aircraft Carrier Theodore Roosevelt. He was employed as security with Shield and Buckler Security, Inc. One of his favorite hobbies was building model ships. He loved animals and collecting guns.

Deborah “Debbie” Lee Humphrey

Deborah “Debbie” Lee Humphrey, born April 3, 1960, passed away on August 26, 2020, losing her battle with cancer at UT Medical Center, where she worked for 34 years. She loved her family, watching UT football, and camping at the lake where her family spent a lot of time. She is preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Rita Goddard, her brother, Tommy Goddard, and her sister Jennifer Doane.

Lawrence "Boo" Thomas

Lawrence "Boo" Thomas-age 57 of Maynardville, born September 26, 1962. He passed away peacefully Friday, August 21, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Boo was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the Union County Sheriff's Department, was a former employee of the Union County Ambulance Service and was a former Maynardville City Councilman. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend. Proceeded in death by Parents, Earl "Jawbone" Thomas and Bertha Mae Thomas. Sisters: Mary Mills, Annie Carpenter, Kathy Thomas, and Bernice Thomas.

Chris Allen Killion

Chris Allen Killion, age 63, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully 2:50 am, Monday, August 24, 2020, at Tennova North Medical Center. He was a veteran of the US Army and a truck driver for many years. Chris was preceded in death by step-father, James “Ed” Dockery, and grandparents, Evelyn & Clifford Jones and Millard & Roxie Killion.

Betty Ann Kitts-age 77 of Luttrell passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Beverly Park Place Healthcare in Knoxville. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by parents, Henry (Earl) Grubb and Nancy Baker Grubb; husband, Charles Kitts; brother, James Grubb; nephew, James (Goober) Grubb; son-in-law, Mark Caldwell.
