Polly Ann Brown

Polly Ann Brown-age 75 of Tazewell passed away Monday morning, October 31, 2022 at her home. She was a member of Lone Hollow Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Tri-State Nursing Home in Harrogate with 35 years of service as a CNA. Preceded in death by parents, Alfred and Mae Jordan along with eight brothers and sisters.

Kynsley Rae Sharp

Kynsley Rae Sharp – age 8 weeks, born September 2, 2022, peacefully fell asleep in Daddy and Mommy’s arms on October 27, 2022 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. She touched the lives of many on her journey, from friends they made in the hospital to random strangers who stumbled upon her story. Everyone who heard about her or knew her knew how hard she was fighting and made them want to fight right along with her. We were all so blessed to know her and will keep her memory alive daily. Fly high up there sweet girl.

Curtis Peace, Jr.

Curtis Enzer “Poppy” Peace, Jr. – age 82 of Andersonville, went home to be with the Lord. He is singing with the Angels and will be deeply missed by his family and everyone that knew him. Job 14:1-2 says: Man that is born of a woman is a few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow and continueth not. He loved his family and friends, but he loved the Lord most of all! He was a member of Indian Gap Missionary Baptist Church. Poppy enjoyed playing and singing bluegrass gospel music.

James E. Loy, Sr.

James E. Loy, Sr.-age 79 of Sevierville went to his heavenly home Sunday morning, October 30, 2022 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted family man. He enjoyed music and was affectionately known as The Man in Black when he sang. His beautiful voice and his quick wit will be missed by many. Preceded in death by parents, James and Ruby Loy; sisters, Baby Shirley; Mary Rudder; Hazel Branam and Teresa Martin.

Helen McCoy

Helen Beason McCoy – age 79 of Maynardville, passed away October 27, 2022 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She attended Community Baptist Church and Valley grove Baptist Church.

South Carolina on Sunday morning, October 23, 2022.

H.E. was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Emerson Booker, Sr., and Jesse Willard
Booker Stowers; sisters, Marlene Booker Orick (Ray) and Janet Booker Moore (Owen); parents-in-law,
Shirley and Otha Needham; brothers-in-law Michael Needham and Steve Stooksbury;
and uncle Chester “Chet” Atkins.

Roger Sexton

Christopher “Roger” Sexton-age 47 of Blaine passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith. He gave his life to the Lord at Raccoon Valley Baptist Church. Preceded in death by grandparents, Rev. Daniel and Loretta Warwick; Gordan and Francis Sexton; step-grandmother, Rosie Sexton.

Survivors: mother, Janice Warwick; father, Clark Sexton; step-mother, Cheyenne Sexton; brothers, Richie Sexton (Bryan Cupp); Josh Coffman (Decoda Gutierrez. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins along with a host of friends.

Nancy Jeanette (Collins) Carter

Nancy Jeanette (Collins) Carter, age 78 of Sharps Chapel passed away Monday, October 24, 2022 at Willow Ridge Center surrounded by her family. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by parents, Rev. Conley and Lillian Collins; brothers, John, Robert, and Jerry Collins; sisters, Gaynell Cox, Mary Tolliver, and Shirley Collins; brothers-in-law, John, Charles, and Tony Carter.

Sharon Lee Hensley

Sharon Lee Hensley-age 71 of Luttrell passed away Saturday, October 22, 2022 at U. T. Medical Center. She was preceded in death by son, Gary E. Hensley, Jr.

Survivors: husband of 48 years, Gary Eddie Hensley, Sr.; children, Jimmy King and wife, Teresa; Timmy King and wife, Carrie; Crystal Nicely and husband, Jeffery Raley. Eight grandchildren. Sister, Sheila Williams. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

Jason Lynn Houston

Jason Lynn Houston-age 40 of Maynardville, born November 13, 1981 went to be with the Lord Friday, October 21, 2022 at his home with his family at his side. He was preceded in death by father, Timmy Dale Houston; grandparents, James and Eula Gray Houston; Fred Douglas Hackney and his uncle, Anthony Houston.

Devin Hensley-age 25 of Maynardville went to be with his Daddy and Mamaw Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at St. Thomas Medical Center in Nashville. He was recently Baptized and was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his father, Roy Dan Hensley; grandparents, Barbara Buckner, Richard Buckner, JoAnn Muncey, Gene and Inez Hensley; best friend, Dakota Runyon, special friend, Pap.

Fern Bryant Stevenson

Fern Bryant Stevenson-age 83 of Knoxville went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at her home. She was a member of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly, Luttrell. Preceded in death by parents, Horace Reo and Roxanne Mae (Chamberlain) Bryant. Brothers, Earl, Burl and Joe Bryant; sisters, Martha Bryant, Helen McGinnis and June Johnson.

Mary Alice Muse

Mary Alice Muse-age 77 of Maynardville passed away Monday morning, October 17, 2022 at her home. She attended The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was preceded in death by daughter, Theresa Muse; parents, Bill and Julia Pearl Ammerman.

Survivors: husband of 50 years, Ronnie W. Muse, Sr.; children, Timmy Ammerman, Rusty Ammerman; Ronnie Muse, Jr. and wife, Peggy; Cheryl Overholt and husband, Claude; Dennis Muse and wife, Emily. Thirteen grandchildren. Several other family members along with a host of friends.

Barbara "Bobbie" Shoffner

Barbara “Bobbie” Shoffner – age 85 of Maynardville, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2022 at North Knox Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by parents, Roy and Clara Bess (Miller) Wolfenbarger; infant son, Stanley David Shoffner; son and daughter-in-law, Gerald “Jerry” and Marilyn Shoffner; granddaughter, Tyra Shoffner; sisters, JoAnn Wyrick and Patsy Haynes; and brother, Troy Wolfenbarger. Bobbie is survived by daughter, Sandra (Troy) Greene; grandchildren, Logan Oxendine, Jim Greene and Tiffany Shoffner; great grandson, Kenny Greene; and sister, Charlotte Helm.

Curtis "Marty" Corum, Jr.

Curtis “Marty” Corum, Jr. – age 72 of Maynardville, passed away suddenly October 15, 2022 at his home. He was of the Church of God faith and served in the U. S. Army. Marty was a member of Sheet Metal Worker Local #5. He loved fishing, hunting and anything about cars and trucks.

Troy Dixon

William Troy Dixon-age 70 of Maynardville passed away Friday morning, October 14, 2022 at Beverly Park Place, Knoxville.

Troy is survived by sisters, Mary, Bonnie and Georgia; brother, James Lynn Dixon; son, William and daughter, Angie; grandsons, Tyler and Kyle.

Ray McDonnell, Jr.

Raymond Everett McDonnell, Jr.-age 71 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his home. He attended Salem Baptist Church in Halls and was a retired professor of biology at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, Middlesboro, Kentucky. He held a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree and a Doctorate Degree in Life Sciences from the University of Tennessee. Ray was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved life and helping others. He was very witty and comical at times and loved to share a funny story with family and friends.

Pearlene Sizemore

Pearlene Sizemore-age 87 of Luttrell passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She attended Hansard Chapel United Methodist Church. She was the last surviving member of the late Gerome and Lula (Coble) Sandridge family. Also preceded in death by husband, Arthur Sizemore; son Stephen Sizemore; brothers, Virgil Sandridge, David Sandridge and Charles Sandridge; sisters, Magdaline Prayter, Eileen Connerton and Delores Vaughn.
