Peggy Burggraf

Peggy June (Seagle) Burggraf – age 71 of Tazewell, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at home to spend eternity in her Heavenly home with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born December 13, 1951 to Earl and Ruby June Seagle. Peggy lived her Christian life and love for the Lord to everyone she met. She lived most of her life with heart problems, but she was known to have the biggest heart for people. The one-word people used to describe Peggy was “sweet”. One of her favorite verses was Proverbs 3:5-6.

David Edward Hutchison

David Edward Hutchison age-69 of Andersonville passed away Sunday, February 12,2023 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Irby Hutchison.

Survivors: sisters, Judy, Shirley and Susie; brother, Bobby along with a host of other loving family members.

Rev. Steve Tharp

Rev. Steve Tharp-age 64 of Luttrell went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. He lived his life doing his best to make the Lord a good soldier. He was a dedicated member of New Friendship Baptist Church and was a former pastor of Blue Springs Baptist Church and Ridgeview Baptist Church. He was employed at Patterson Brothers as a truck driver. He is preceded in death by parents, Harley Lloyd and Elsie Fern Tharp; sister, Kimberly Tharp.

Ralph Sharp

Ralph Sharp age 87 of New Tazewell was born July 24, 1935 and passed away February 10, 2023 at home peacefully in his sleep. He served his country in the Army for 7 years. He was owner of Sharps Grading Contractors for over 50 years, where he worked with his loving son and grandson. Ralph married Mildred Rosson August 15, 1958. He was a loving family man and enjoyed telling many stories over the years with his friends. Ralph was a member and deacon of Head of Barren Baptist Church.

Carolyn Sue Chamberlain

Carolyn Sue Chamberlain-age 90 of Maynardville passed away Saturday, February 4,2023 at Willow Ridge Center.

Preceded in death by husband, Paul Chamberlain; parents, Earl and Frances (Rice) Conwell; brother, Richard Conwell; sister, Phyllis Scott.

Survivors: sons, Wayne Conwell, William Scott and Michael Chamberlain; grandchildren, Trisha Cruz, Nicole Gibson and Joey Chamberlain; great-grandchildren, Coby, Chad and Lila; sister, Jeannie Wright along with other loving family members.

Dottie Sharp Williams

Ms. Dottie Williams age 82 of Monroe, Michigan was born October 14, 1940 and passed away February 3, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. She retired from General Motors after 37 years and an active member of the UAW local 14. Dottie enjoyed and loved her family. She was an avid gardener and loved being outdoors. She was a basketball fan and loved Tennessee basketball.

Ramiro Munoz-Gonzalez

Ramiro Munoz-Gonzalez-age 37 of Knoxville passed away Thursday morning, February 2, 2023 at U. T. Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1985 in Mexico. He was a founding member of St. Teresa of Kolkata Catholic Church in Maynardville. He was a rancher, farmer and also a self-employed brick mason for 15 years. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He loved his wife and family and his God above all else.

Max Ray

Max Ray-age 79, of Sharps Chapel, born October 31,1943 passed away Friday evening, February 3, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital. Preceded in death by parents, Lowe and Lassie (Pratt) Ray, siblings, Martha Mae Ray, Anna Mae Ray, Lorene Ray and Ralph Ray. He was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church and worked as a diesel mechanic for Massey Ferguson and Payne Ford Tractor in Tazewell for 44 years. He spent countless hours helping friends and neighbors with small engine repairs.

Donald Ray Odom

Donald Ray Odom – age 81 of Maynardville, left for his heavenly home on February 5, 2023. He was born in Sweetwater on September 23, 1941. Donald was employed with TVA for 31 years where he made many fond memories and many dear friends. During his retirement he gardened and mowed many yards. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons.

Briseis Aaliyah Aljumaily, Age 15 of Luttrell, TN unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 29th, 2023. She was born on October 29th, 2007 in Tampa, FL to Kelley Jean Curry-Aljumaily & the late Charles Damon (Ali) Aljumaily. She had an adventurous young life having lived in Wyoming; North Carolina; Florida & then permanently in Luttrell, TN.

Gabriella AnnaLeese Aljumaily

GABRIELLA ANNALEESE ALJUMAILY
Gabriella Annaleese Aljumaily Age 5, unexpectedly was escorted by angels to be in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, January 29th, 2023. She was born at UTMC on December 30, 2017 & was blessed with an “extra chromosome” which made her extra special to all who come in contact with her. Gabi may have had Down’s Syndrome but she was down right perfect! She was currently enrolled at Paulette Elementary Pre-School & a client at Mission Hope.

Jim Collins

James “Jim” P. Collins – age 92 of Maynardville, passed away February 2, 2023. He was born May 11, 1930. Jim was a proud veteran who served in the United Sates Marine Corps from 1949-1952. He retired from K-Trans in 1995. From 1997 – 2021 Jim resumed his career as a barber. He was a 50 year member of J. C. Baker Masonic Lodge, member of American Legion Post #12 and served with the Tri-County Honor Guard. Jim was a member of Community Baptist Church and served as a deacon for 58 years.

Cloudia Ann "Penny" Wolard

Cloudia Ann (Penny) Wolard-age 64 of Luttrell passed away Sunday morning, January 29,2023 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She was saved and of the Baptist faith.

Preceded in death by parents: Fonzy and Pearl (Perkey) Wolard; brothers, Lowell and J. D. Shropshire.

Survivors: brother, James Wolard and wife, Diane of Maynardville; sister, Sue Muncey of Luttrell; brother, Fonzy Darrell Wolard, Jr. of Luttrell; sister, Kay Bridgman and husband, Keny of Andersonville. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews along with other family members and friends.

Mary Ruth Hobbs

Mary Ruth Hobbs – age 75, passed away January 26, 2023 at North Knox Medical Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by husband, Jewel Hobbs; daughter, Sherry Holt; son, Terry Keller; and parents, Woodrow and Omie Asbury. Mary is survived by son, Sam (Jeannie) Hobbs; grandsons, Andrew (Hillary) Holt, Christian (Hollie) Holt, Jesse Keller, Brandon (Rebecca) Holt, Dakota (Lauren) Holt, Nickolas Holt, Logan Hobbs and Austin Hobbs; nine great grandchildren; niece, Sandra Brown; nephew, Donnie Brown; aunt, Betty; cousins; and beloved friends.

Tammy Duncan

Tammy Duncan-age 49 of Clinton passed away Friday morning, January 27, 2023 at North Knoxville Medical Center. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Kyle Townsend, Jr. and Mary Ruth (Headrick) Townsend; sister, Georgia Townsend Irwin.

Survivors: daughter, Tori Hardin and husband, Tucker; son, Glen Duncan and wife, Cass; one grandson, Wesley Hardin; brother, Kyle Townsend; sisters, Brenda McMahan and Vickie Townsend. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

Bobby "Butch' Buckner

Bobby Ray “Butch” Buckner-age 59 of Knoxville, formerly of Maynardville passed away suddenly Thursday morning, January 26, 2023 at his home. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and was a former employee of Hodge Manufacturing. Preceded in death by wife, Judy Buckner; parents, Billy “Tode” and Betty Jo (Bailey) Buckner; son, Douglas Buckner; brother, Ricky Buckner.

Coba Faye (Cox) Dyke

Coba Faye (Cox) Dyke (age 89), journeyed to her heavenly home on Thursday, January 26, 2023. She was born to Joe and Bertha Cox on September 30, 1933 in Sharps Chapel, TN. She was a woman of great faith and belonged to the Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. Coba was raised in her hometown where she later married her lifelong love, Dwane, on August 3, 1949.

Dale Edward Collett

Dale Edward Collett-age 75 of Sharps Chapel went to be with the Lord, Tuesday morning January 24,2023. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. He was an avid bible studier. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing with his family. He loved gospel music and wrote many songs. Dale was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
