Ray Edward Kitts-age 82 of the Halls Community in Knoxville went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 17, 2023 at his home. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Halls. Preceded in death by parents, Ralph and Rachel (Kidwell) Kitts; brothers, Harvey, Bobby, Bill and Jake Kitts; step-sons, Tommy and Ralph Kidwell.

Hettie Marie Buckner Paul

Hettie Buckner Paul-age 81 of Maynardville passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at her home. She was of the Baptist Faith, saved and baptized at Warick Baptist Church at an early age. Preceded in death by parents, Johnny Delbert “Deb” Buckner and Myrtle Wolfenbarger Buckner; brothers, Claude Buckner, Glen Buckner, J.D. Buckner, Kenneth Buckner, Homer Buckner; sisters, Jessie Buckner Jones, Gertie Buckner Grubb, Alice Buckner, Francis Buckner Wilkerson.

William Cody Lynch

William “Cody” Lynch-age 28 of Washburn passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was a member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Buck Wood; grandparents, Randy and Dian Lynch, Johnny and Ruth Wood; aunt, Nina Bell Lynch; uncles, Darrell Lynch, Kevin Wood.

Survivors: parents, Tammie Lynch and AJ Wilkerson, brother, Mason Lynch; special aunt, Debbie Buckner Lynch and several cousins and friends.

John "Jack" Grau

John “Jack” Grau – age 76 of Sharps Chapel, passed away on July 10, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Jack and his wife Annie have been married for 54 years. They met in England in 1968 where Jack was stationed with the Air Force as a military police officer. Most of his youth was in Piqua, Ohio where he attended Piqua Catholic High School where he was active in football and basketball. Jack was employed by Sears Roebuck for over 40 years, holding many positions at various locations throughout the United States.

Dollie Sue Beeler

Dollie Sue Beeler-age 67 of Luttrell passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Home Faith Baptist Church. Dollie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family, crafts and flowers. Proceeded in death by her late husband, Johnnie Lee Beeler Sr.; parents, William and Edria Muncey; sister, Bonnie; brother, Charles.

Kathy Cox Jones

Hebrews 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Kathy Lynn Cox Jones-age 73 of Maynardville, born May 15, 1950 to the late Porter and Roberta (Bailey) Cox departed this life Thursday, July 6, 2023 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pennington Chapel Baptist Church. Kathy was the proud owner of Kathy’s Hair Styling and if you set in her chair, you automatically became her friend. Sadly, she closed in the 90’s but her legacy lived on. She opened her home to many and enjoyed your company; you never left hungry or unloved.

Gregory Corum, Sr.

Gregory Lynn Corum, Sr. went home to be with the Lord July 1, 2023. Greg was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by so many. He was blessed with so many special friends that he loved. Greg was an avid hunter and game fowl enthusiast.

Ricky Lee Payne, Sr.

Ricky Lee Payne, Sr.-age 64 of Corryton passed away Saturday morning July 1, 2023, at his home. He attended Clear Springs Baptist Church. He was a retired carpenter. Ricky was a loving husband and father. Preceded in death by wife of 37 years, Camille Payne; parents, Leonard and Lula Payne; brothers, Charles Payne and wife Judy, James Payne and wife, Janice; nieces, Christy Payne, Melissa Willman, Connie Colwell; nephew, Donald Payne; father and mother-in-law, Mitchell and Kay Radon.

Forest Paul Bowman

Forest Paul Bowman (Paul) passed away on 30 June 2023, after a long battle with cancer. Visitation will be 12:00 -2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow on Saturday, 8 July at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Funeral Home in Maynardville, Tennessee.
Paul was born to Ernest and Beulah Bowman on 25 February 1944. Paul worked for AT&T for 35 years, served as Union County Court Commissioner for eight years, served as mayor of Maynardville, and was on the Maynardville City Council for 16 years.

Richard Scott Lucas

Richard Scott Lucas-age 59 of Maynardville passed away suddenly Saturday evening, July 1, 2023 at his home. He was a member of Maynardville Church of Christ. Preceded in death by father, Herman Lucas; uncle, Lynn Sexton; grandmother, Lucille Sexton; grandfather, Troy Sexton.

Connie Buckner

Connie Buckner – age 84 of Maynardville, entered her Heavenly Home early Friday morning on June 30, 2023. Connie was a member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville for more than 60 years and especially loved her Sunday School Class – the Marilyn Class. After high school Connie graduated from Cooper Institute of Business and served as a secretary then went on to work in banking for fifteen years. She opened her own business in 1982, a women’s clothing store called Connie’s Boutique where she made many special friends. Connie had a great smile and was a friend to all that knew her.

Alli Marie Keel

Alli Marie Keel-age 24 of Knoxville passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at her home. She was a graduate of Union County High School, Class of 2017. Proceeded in death by grandmother, Kristine Chadwick; uncle, Drew Hall.

Survivors: daughter, Arie Worsham; mother, Kaela Keel; stepfather, Chris Ryan; father, James Hall; brother, Austin Keel; sisters, Tiffany and Sara Hall; stepmom, Ashley Ward; stepdad, Brian Ward; grandparents, Darrell and Sonja Chadwick; Robbie Zachary along with several aunts, uncles and other family members and friends.

Garrett Walker-age 19 of Tazewell passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Claiborne Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. He loved football and played with Claiborne County High School along with other sports. Preceded in death by his loving mother, Betsy Runions.

Doris E. (Houston) Ingle-age 82 of Maynardville passed away Sunday evening, June 25, 2023, at her home. She was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband of 60 years, Tip Ingle; son, Robert Lynn “Bobby” Ingle; parents, Kyle Houston and Hattie (Hopper) Houston; brother, Ronnie Houston; son-in-law, Victor Archer.

Roy Lee Sands

Roy Lee Sands-age 65 of Washburn passed away Friday evening, June 23, 2023, at U. T. Medical Center. He was saved at an early age and was a Christian. Preceded in death by parents, Emmett and Hettie (Nicley) Sands; brother, Roger Sands.

Survivors: wife of 43 years, Debbie Sue (Collins) Sands; daughters, Patricia Hickman, Peggy Cox; son, Emmett Lee Sands; three grandchildren, Keshia Hickman, Justin Hickman and Michael Cox; two sisters, Ella Joe Bunch, Helen Ruth Sands; one brother, James Robert Sands. Barbara Dyke

Barbara Jean Dyke – 58 of Maynardville, passed away June 20, 2023 at Claiborne County Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her father, Philip Aaron Smith, Sr. Barbara is survived by her mother, Margaret Ann Bryer, sister, Bonnie Romaine; and brothers, Philip “Buddy” Aaron Smith, Jr. and Robert Allen Smith.

Penny Shoffner

Penny Sue (Wyrick) Shoffner – age 58 of Knoxville, TN originally from Luttrell, TN was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 5:07 p.m. at North Knox Medical Center in Powell, TN. She was a mother, sister, friend, and a “mam” which was her favorite title. She was a member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church in Luttrell. Preceded in death by her special aunt and uncle Elbert and Ruby Wyrick, and her mother, Mary Sue Ogle.

Patten, Sally

Sally Marie Habermacher Patten was born March 30, 1949, in Houston, Texas, and died on June 18, 2023, at her home in Powder Springs, Tennessee after an extended illness. Before she and her husband moved to Powder Springs, she was an insurance underwriter for AIG Insurance in Dallas, Texas. After moving, she converted to the Catholic Church and was instrumental in the establishment of both Saint Teresa of Kolkata Church in Maynardville and Saint John Paul II Mission in Rutledge, she worked as the secretary and administrator for both churches at her own expense for the first 6 years.

Mary Hearn

Mary Hearn-age 91 of Maynardville passed away Friday morning, June 16, 2023 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith and a retired jeweler of Wal-Mart, Knoxville, Tennessee with 23 years of service. Preceded in death by husband, Charles Hearn, Jr. and parents, William and Maudie (Harneck) Jackson; one sister and four brothers.

Survivors: sons, Pete Demetroff, Rick Demetroff, William Demetroff, Scott Demetroff and wife, Velda. Nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. One brother and three sisters. Several nieces and nephews.
