Robert Sterling "Bob" Kitts

Robert Sterling “Bob” Kitts-age 62 of Knoxville, born September 1, 1958 spread his wings and headed for home Wednesday, June 16, 2021 to join his Heavenly family. Bob was of the Christian faith and knew were he was going. A devout family man always lending a helping hand and a true devoted rock to many. Wonderful father, exceptional brother and personal caregiver to both his parents when they needed him most. Bob loved and played music, enjoyed NASCAR, sports and working on cars. Bob made his living working on cars as an auto body technician his entire life and worked on the side. Bob absolutely cherished and loved family, playing music on his mom’s old piano and sitting by a fire. He will be greatly missed by his best friend and only son, Daniel Sterling Kitts, his only sister, Janice Kitts to which he was her rock. Also survived by his three brothers who he loved greatly: Donnie, Jimmy and David Kitts who will live on in his treasured memory.

Preceded in death by parents, Don Francis and Melba Jennilee Kitts; grandparents, Adron and Flossie Kitts, Reece Elizabeth Lyons and Milburn C. Brewer.

Survived by son, Daniel Kitts; brothers, Donnie Kitts, Jimmy and Sandra Kitts, David and Debra Kitts; sister, Janice Kitts. Nieces, Adriana Mayes and Kala Kitts; nephews, Brandon and Penny Kitts, James Dean and Mandelyn Kitts, Randy and Alecia Bates; great-nieces, Aariana Mayes, Nora and Everly Bates. Special mention: many cousins and lots of friends.

The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2021 with the funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel. Interment 12 Noon Tuesday, Oakland Cemetery, Maynardville. Family and friends will meet by 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers: Brandon Kitts, Randy Bates, Jimmy Dean Kitts, Buster Brewer, James “Wedge” Davis, Ray Brewer. Lacie Marie Allen-age 17 hours, 4 minutes of Thorn Hill, born Sunday, July 25, 2021 passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by great-grandfathers, Thomas (Bo) Thornsbury; John Wesley Wolford; great-grandmother, Francis Marie Wolf.

Peter W. Green

Peter W. Green passed peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning July 25, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
This loving husband, father of 4, grandfather (Umpy) to 10 and great grandfather to 2 was a man of faith, love, strength, wit and wisdom.
Pete loved to compliment workers, admired a strong handshake, had a great smile and the absolute best sense of humor.

Norman J. Brantley

Norman J. Brantley-age 72 of Sharps Chapel passed away Friday evening, July 23, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital at Tennova North surrounded by loved ones. Norman was born March 26. 1949 in Sharps Chapel to Roy and Willie (White) Brantley. Norman proudly served his country in the Viet Nam War and was a U. S. Army Veteran. Norman was strong, kind, loving and supportive father and husband. His Knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family and he was also a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Bill Loy

Bill Loy – age 90 of Maynardville, beloved husband and father, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2021. He was saved as a young man and was a member of Alder Springs Baptist Church. Bill graduated Horace Maynard High School then joined the Army but was honorably discharged due to a medical condition. He worked for his father-in-law, Kermit Maples at Maples Chevrolet in Harriman for several years. He then worked for JFG Coffee Co. and retired from Roddy Mfg. Co. (Coca-Cola) after 27 years of service.

Jay Dyke

Jay Dyke-age 92 of Sharps Chapel went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Claiborne Medical Center. He was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church and a retired Teamster with T.V.A. He was the son of the late James and Clatis (Welch) Dyke; also preceded in death by wife, Jewell Sharp Dyke; son, Larry Dyke; daughters, Pamela Dyke Collins, Debra Dyke; grandson, Jason Collins and Jimmy Brantley; great-grandson, Dillon Collins brothers and sisters, Robert, Carl, Lonnie, Mary, Fern and Maggie.

Matthew Herbert Nicley

Matthew Herbert Nicley-age 41 of Washburn passed away suddenly Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his home. He was a member of Powder Springs Missionary Baptist Church and an employee of Hurst Trailers. Preceded in death by brother, Brad Nicley; grandparents, Fred and Maurine Nicley; Inez Merritt; special great-aunt, Nola “Auntie” Merritt.

Ellen Vollmer

Ellen Christine Vollmer-age 55 of Maynardville, born November 16, 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio passed away suddenly Monday, July 19, 2021 at North Knoxville Medical Center. She had been a resident of Willow Ridge Center in Maynardville for the past 8 years and was of the Catholic faith.
Ellen is survived by a sister, Fran Graves and a brother, David Vollmer, both of Ohio.
The body will be cremated and returned to Ohio. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.

Martha Jo Hill-age 73 of Washburn passed away Saturday evening, July 17, 2021 at Willow Ridge Center after a lengthy illness. She attended Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Emerson Starnes; grandparents, Clayton and Rosie Bailey.

Jimmy Ryan Delph

Jimmy Ryan Delph – age 44 of Maynardville, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 15, 2021.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Raymond Schmidt and Gracie M. Delph. Ryan is survived by his mother, Darlene (Alan) Mayes; children, Hunter and Eli Delph; grandmother, Nancy Schmidt; sister, Shelly (Gary) Winans; and father, Jimmy (Barbara) Delph.
