Mikel Collins

Mikel Collins, age 75, of Maynardville, Tennessee, passed away on July 18, 2026.Born on March 13, 1951, and raised in Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, Mikel spent most of his working life as a truck driver. He was a member of Taylor’s Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Among his greatest joys were piddling on the farm and spending time with his grandchildren, Hayley, Addie, and Levi, and his great-grandchildren, Blayne and Luke, of whom he was immensely proud.
Mikel was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Georgette Collins; his oldest son, Michael Collins; and his brothers, Teddy, Randy, and Ronale.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Collins; his sons, David Yadon and Justin Collins; his daughter-in-law, Maegan Yadon; his grandson-in-law, Bradley Warwick; his grandchildren, Hayley, Addie, and Levi; his great-grandchildren, Blayne and Luke; his brothers, Ricky, Danny, and Lanny; and other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Greg Sharp and Rev. Brian Liford officiating with special singing by Savannah Cole. Interment 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Taylor’s Grove Cemetery, Sharps Chapel. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday to go with the funeral procession. Pallbearers will be Jessee England, Bradley Warwick, Brian Collins, Eric Collins, Kevin Collins, and Josh Rouse. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Addie, Levi, Blayne, Luke, and Casen, as well as his lifelong friends, Earl Ailor, Chester Sturgeon, Gary Kitts, and Jim Greene.
