James E. Muncey – age 72 of Luttrell, was saved on an Easter Sunday morning many years ago and went to his Heavenly Home on August 4, 2026. He was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. James worked at Marlock, Inc. in Maynardville until they closed and then was employed with St. Mary’s Hospital, now Tennova Medical Center, until he retired last month.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Hunter Muncey, his parents, Hubert and Louise Muncey and sister, Lois Wynn. James is survived by his wife, Phyllis Muncey; son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Tim and Monica Muncey; daughter Regina Murray; stepsons, Mike (Kim) Harris, Jeremy (Tiffany) Harris; his grandchildren, who he was so proud of, Jacob (Jessica) Muncey, Landon (Kelsey) Muncey, Austin (Emily) Murray, LaShea (Jacob) Dunlap, Caleb, Abby and Noah Harris; great grandchildren, Corbin Muncey, Kamden Hensley, Kainan Howard and Ashton Smith; brothers, Hubert “Bubby”, Gary (Shirley), Jerry (Norma), Ricky (Robin) and Stanley; sisters, Patsy (Roger), Wanda (Burl), Lenore (Mark) and Joeann.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 7, 2026 in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The service to follow with Reverend Allen Giles officiating. Family and friends will meet at Trinity Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 9:45 a.m. to proceed to Beeler Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service. Serving as pallbearers, Jacob Muncey, Landon Muncey, Mike Harris, Jeremy Harris, Caleb Harris, Austin Murray, Jacob Dunlap and Shannon Goin.
