James Albert Israel
James A. Israel-age 94 of Powder Springs, Tennessee passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was a faithful member of Cedar Ford Baptist Church, Luttrell. He was a 70-year member of Corryton Lodge #321 F. & A.M., the Knoxville Scottish Rite and the Kerbela Temple. James was an employee and driver for Brown Transportation for over 35 years. Preceded in death by parents, John and Eddie Israel; mother of his children, Dorothy Palmer Israel; sons, Jimmy Israel and Johnny Israel; grandson, John Ashley Israel; great-grandson, Matthew Lee Israel (USMC).
Survived by son, Gary Israel and wife, Nancy; daughter, Kathy Roberts and husband, Kris; daughters-in-law, Elaine Israel and Carol Israel. Grandchildren, Michael Israel, Tracy Whaley, Crystal Kite, Matthew Israel, Scott Hensley, Joey Israel, Jason Scarbrough and Kadie Scarbrough. 19 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Autumn Care Assisted Living of Karnes.
The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Cedar Ford Baptist Church in Luttrell. A masonic service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday presented by Corryton Masonic Lodge #321 F. & A.M. at the church. A funeral service will follow, Rev. Eddie Muncey officiating with music by Brittany Muncey and Melba Greene. Interment will follow at Luttrell Cemetery, Luttrell. Pallbearers: Scott Hensley, Sylas Hensley, Jason Scarbrough, Kris Roberts, Matthew Israel, Michael Israel, Mitchell Israel. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
