Imogene Brantley Munsey

Imogene (Brantley) Munsey-age 87 of Maynardville went home to be with the Lord Friday evening, May 15, 2026 at her home. She was the oldest member of Fairview Baptist Church. Imogene was affectionately known by family as “The Queen of Maynardville”. Imogene served her community by serving in the Union County Rescue Squad “Crewettes” for over 30 years and drove a school bus for Union County Schools for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by husband of 64 years, Melborn (Duck) Munsey; son, Marvin Munsey; two brothers, Clarence and Ronnie Brantley; one sister, Linda Strange.

She is survived by son, Tim (Martha) Munsey; daughter, Sharon (Wayne) Ward; sisters, Frances Bailey, Carolyn (Reuben) Stansberry; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of friends.

The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2026 with the funeral service to follow 5 p.m. Monday, Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Gary Beeler, Rev. Dean Brantley, Rev. Jason Walker officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Luttrell. Pallbearers: Andrew Munsey, Scott Hensley, Sylas Hensley, Ryan Sharpe, Zach Sharpe, Corey Boles. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
