Alan Gray Sherman-age 77 of Maynardville, TN born December 18, 1944 passed away Saturday morning, November 26, 2022 at his home. He was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Knoxville. He was a retired Veteran of the Viet Nam War with the United States Navy at the rank of Master Chief with 24 years of service and was awarded several medals and accommodations including a Purple Heart.
Glenn Stump, age 92, of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, passed away on September 23, 2022. Glenn was a loving husband and father as well as an amazing “Papaw” to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a long-time entrepreneur in the Phelps, Kentucky area. Glenn along with his late wife, Pauline, were a staple at the Phelps intersection for many years. Glenn enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a man of true grit, and had touched many families throughout his life.Glenn was born on May 26, 1930, to the late Frank Stump, Sr. and Sara Ann (Dotson) Stump. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Dorothy “Pop” Stump, grandson, Judson Kyle Anderson, brothers, Ermel Stump, Oscar Stump (Merle) and Frank Stump, Jr. (Libby) and his five sisters, Pauline Smith (Julius), Virginia Ann Smith (Willie), Jeanette Densmore (Bill), Racene Hassard (Ron) and Justine Hickman (John David “JD”).
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Elizabeth Anderson of Saint Cloud, FL, andsix sons, David Glen (Sandra) of Sharps Chapel, TN; Frank Marshall (Debbie) of Knoxville, TN; John Mitchell of Shelbyville, KY; Keith Gordon (Karen) of Knoxville, TN; Samuel Blake (Jenny) of Richmond, KY; and Gregory Paul of Sharps Chapel, TN. He is also survived by grandchildren, Alta Anderson and Cara Noel, both of Saint Cloud, F; Andrea Leigh Stump of Sharps Chapel, TN; Chad David (April) Stump of Banner, KY; Ryan (Robyn) Stump of Johnson City, TN; Blake (Lauren) Stump of Castle Rock, CO; Jonathan (Joslyen) Stump of Georgetown, KY; Raimee (Adam) Stump Botner of Smyrna, TN; Erin McKenzie Stump, Wesley Keegan Stump, Konnor Maxwell Stump all of Knoxville, TN; Racheal (David) Stump Cook of Brentwood, TN; Kayla (David) Stump Hendren of Richmond, KY; Raigan Elizabeth Stump and Brooklan Grace Stump of Knoxville, TN. Glenn is also survived by great-grandchildren, Lilleigh Jane Stump of Sharps Chapel, TN; Hallie Lorin Stump, Miley Nicole Burchett, Jaxson Layne Burchett, all of Banner, KY; Eli Stump and Ella Stump of Johnson City, TN; Liam Stump, Mason Stump, Ollie Stump, Elliott Stump, and Willow Stump all of Castle Rock, CO; Felix Stump, Glenn Stump, Dayana Mendoza, Ivana Mendoza, and Zoe Mendoza, all of Georgetown, KY; Otis Botner of Smyrna, TN; Isabella Stump and Scarlett Hendren, both of Richmond, KY. Glenn is survived by two sisters Shelby (Roy) Campbell of Phelps, KY and Janice (Harv) McLaughlin of Washington, MI as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Services in memory of Glenn Stump will be held at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary Chapel in Maynardville, TN. Visitation to be held Tuesday, September 27th beginning at 5:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. A burial ceremony will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Maynardville, TN, on Wednesday, September 28th beginning at 11:00A.M., where Glenn will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Pauline. Pearl Chao Sharp, 72, of Lawrenceville, wife of Roving Photographer Frank Sharp, passed away October 1 at Northside Hospital in Lawrenceville from pancreatic cancer. She was born on February 7, 1949, in China, but escaped to Taiwan during the war with China.

Katelyn Ashton Garrett – age 18 of Corryton, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at U T Medical Center. Our beautiful precious Kate lost her battle to AML. She fought long and hard and was so brave. Not only for all of us, but for her perfect baby girl, Madison Grace. We know that Katelyn is no longer in pain. She went through those Pearly Gates. Katlyn gets to walk with our Father, hug her mother and hold her baby girl.
George Odra Sweet-age 62 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord suddenly Thursday afternoon, November 10, 2022 at his home. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. He loved wood working in his own wood working shop and also loved hunting, especially archery. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Sweet; brothers, Lawrence, Jeff and Rome Sweet.

Sue’s quote was that her Lord never disappointed her. She was a retired employee of the former Standard Knitting Mill and The Palm Beach Company.
