Coy Richard (Dickie) Tharp-age 75 of Luttrell passed away Monday, June 1, 2026 at his home. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War. Preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Tharp; parents, Coy and Velma Faye (Williams) Tharp; brother, Michael Lynn Tharp, Sr.; sisters, Linda Washam and DeAnna Cooper.

Survived by children, Carla Stephenson and husband, Cory McClamrock; Sherry Tharp; grandchildren, Timothy “Austin” Stephenson; Coy “Wyatt” Tharp. Siblings, Ina Ruth Wilson, Norma Savage, Dolly Chesney, Sandra Muncey and Steve Tharp. Several nieces and nephews. Coy was a loving father and friend to everyone, he will be truly missed.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920 with military honors presented by Tri-County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers: Michael Dyer, Austin Stephenson, Jody Muncey, Jason Arnwine, Josh Fletcher, Richard Cooper. Honorary Pallbearers: James Dyer, Michel Tharp, Cody O’Mary, Randy Smith, Roy Crawford, Lynn Vandyke. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.
