August Peter “Gus” Nappi-age 88, born December 17, 1937, in Queens, New York, of Maynardville passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at home. He was of the Catholic faith and devote to it. He was a retired land surveyor of 40 years and had been in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Before moving to Maynardville Gus enjoyed fishing, boating and woodworking. Preceded in death by his parents, August Nappi and Anna (Deblasio) Nappi; sisters, Gloria Friedel and brother-in-law, Bob Friedel.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Teresa Nappi; daughters, Gloria Nappi (Brenda Veilleux), Michelle Nappi; dog, Dixie and a handful of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 11 am to 12 pm Saturday, June 13, 2026, St. Teresa of Kolkata Catholic Church, Maynardville, with funeral mass to follow at 12 pm, Father Neil Pezzulo officiating. Reception lunch to follow mass at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Union County Humane Society, 719 Hickory Stary Road, Maynardville, TN 37807.
