Chairman Martin Shafer opened the 28th Annual Union County Business & Professional Prayer Breakfast on Good Friday with a warm country welcome of fellowship and good food. The First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Maynardville was packed with friends who not only wanted to share fellowship, but also to donate to several UC nonprofits. Father Neil Pezzulo of St. Teresa of Kolkata Catholic Church blessed the bounty and reminded everyone that no one should be afraid to walk with the Lord and enjoy the peace that comes from belief.

The Union County Business & Professional Association will host its 28th Annual Prayer Breakfast at First Baptist Church in Maynardville on Good Friday, April 18, beginning at 8 a.m. Dale Keasling, retired CEO and Chairman of Home Federal Bank, is the keynote speaker.

Dale Keasling grew up on a farm in Greeneville, Tennessee. As a farmer he learned the value of work and the responsibility of serving animals and people. He took the principles he learned from farming first to serve in a cryptographic unit in the Air Force, stationed most of the time in New York where he worked with coded messages. The lessons learned from farming continued as he entered ETSU to earn a Bachelor's in accounting and his first job as an auditor for the Arthur Andersen & Co. accounting firm in Chattanooga. Next he joined one of his clients, Valley Fidelity Bank & Trust Co. in Knoxville as chief financial officer.

From President Tammie Hill”s passage from Romans 8:32 “for all things work together for the good to them that know God” to the closing song Amazing Grace, the message of the 27th Annual Union County Business and Professional Prayer Breakfast on Good Friday, March 29, was “come together and ‘Just Believe.’”
Rev. Corey Carroll, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Maynardville, welcomed everyone to the gathering at the church and reminded them of the significance of Easter and the sacrifices that Jesus made.

The Union County Business & Professional Association will host its 27th Annual Prayer Breakfast on Good Friday, March 29, at First Baptist Church on Main Street.
Buttercup Bakehouse will cater a full hot breakfast of bacon, eggs, biscuits with gravy, fruits, cinnamon rolls, pastries, coffee, and juice. Pastor Corey Carroll of First Baptist will offer the warm welcome and caring invocation and Pastor Kathy Chesney of Miller's Chapel UMC and Irwin's Chapel UMC will close with the inspirational benediction.
