Lavada “Cookie” Carol Cooke Aker, age 85, of Maynardville, passed away April 23, 2020, at Maple Court Senior Living Facility. Lavada was a professing believer of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. Born in Sharps Chapel, Lavada spent a large portion of her life in Washington D.C., while working for the FBI. Many lifelong friends were made from both locations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Aker; son, Kevin Aker; parents, Milton and Vesta Cooke; brothers Ora, Roy, and Buddy Cooke; sisters Frances Cooke, Maggie Monroe, and Myrtle June Porter.

Angel Marlena (Houser) Wagner-age 42 of Knoxville passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She attended Horace Maynard High School and was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by mother, Terri Elaine Welch; grandparents, Curtis and Juanita Welch; Joseph “Joe” Houser; Rosalee Welch.

Glenetta Shoffner-age 75 of Sharps Chapel passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Diversicare of Claiborne County. Member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Joe and Elsie (England) Odell; all of her brothers and sisters.

Kasie Masingo age 34 of Sharps Chapel was born December 13, 1985. She passed away on April 19, 2020 at her home. Kasie's beauty and smile lit up any room she walked into. She loved a good joke, and her laugh was contagious. Kasie was a former employee of Volunteer Knit in Tazewell.

She loved her nieces Savanna, Maria, and her nephew Dakota very much. She was dearly loved by her mother, Florence Monroe, her father, Charles (Chub) Masingo and step-mother, Brenda; her brother, Junior Masingo and Dulcie. She will be dearly missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Lilly Marie Wilson – age 51 of Blaine, passed away, Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her home. She was a member of Little Valley Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by parents, Benton and Reba Stiner; children, Precious Ann and Rebbeca Hope Wilson; and brother Steven Stiner. Lilly is survived by husband, Henry Wilson; children, Jessica Stiner, Michael Wilson and MacKenzie Pratt, Allison Wilson and Adam Hodge; Joshua Wilson and Ashley Coleman; five granddaughters; three grandsons; sister, Jean (Junior) Raby; brother, Frankie Stiner; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Glenn L. Robinette – age 62 of Maynardville, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Glenn is a Veteran of the U. S. Navy. Dewey Charles Idol-age 67 of Rutledge, born July 27, 1952 passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at his home. He was a retired employee of Travis Meats with 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Ruby (Brock) Idol; his wife, Minnie B. Idol.

He is survived by daughters, Paula Idol, Sherry Liford and her husband, J. C. Liford; brother, Carl Duane Idol and wife, Amy Idol; sister, Brenda Thompson and husband, Danny Thompson. A few nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Raymond Webster Johnson-age 81 of Maynardville passed away Sunday morning, April 19, 2020 at his home. He was a previous employee of Marlock Corporation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Albert and Cora Delia Haynes Johnson.

Wesley M. Moore – age 11 of Washburn, passed away suddenly, Sunday, April 12, 2020.

Ethel Leona Wyrick-age 84 of Luttrell passed away Wednesday morning, April 15, 2020 at Willow Ridge Center, Maynardville. She was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by son, Tommy Wyrick, Sr.; daughter, Nancy Geneva Wyrick; parents, Bob and Lillie Suffridge; sister, Rozella Franklin; brother, James Suffridge.

Helen Ruth Davidson- age 89 of Norris, passed away, April 14, 2020 at Norris Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Old Rugged Cross Missionary Baptist Church.

Theresa Jane Rumsey-age 60 of Sharps Chapel passed away suddenly Monday morning, April 13, 2020 at her home. Tim “Fish” Troutman – 64 of Corryton passed away, Thursday, April 9, 2020 at North Knoxville Medical Center. He loved to race mountain bikes and fish. Tim is of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Frances Troutman; and half-brother, Marion Brown. Tim is survived by sister, Dawn Styron of Virginia Beach, Virginia; half-brother Edward Brown; friends that are like family; Eddie “Red” (Kathy) Turpin; and special employer, Christy Hicks.

Lucille Cate Loop-age 88 of Corryton went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, April 7, 2020. She was a member of Atkins Baptist Church. Michelle Marie (Sweet) West-age 46 of Knoxville passed away suddenly Monday, April 6, 2020 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by step-father, Charles Smith.

Paris C. Keck-age 62 of Maynardville went to be with the Lord Friday, April 3, 2020 at his home. He was saved at Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was a jack of all trades and currently an employee of Williams Tractors, Maynardville. Paris was a gentle soul, Kind-hearted and loved by all who knew him. Preceded in death by father, W. T. Keck; brother, Danny Keck; sisters, Lisa Sweet and Tina Smith.

Jesse Clive “J. C.” Cox-age 75 of Sharps Chapel passed away peacefully Friday, April 3, 2020 at his home in Maynardville. He enjoyed gardening, building furniture and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by son, Anthony Dale Cox; parents, Sillis and Ollie Cox; four brothers, three sisters.

Corporal Tyler Dwight Beeler (U. S. Marine Corps)-age 24 of Washburn and Oak Ridge, born August 8, 1995 passed away suddenly Sunday, March 22, 2020 in Beaufort, South Carolina where he was stationed with the Marine Corps. He had professed faith in Jesus Christ. Tyler was former employee of Lowes Home Improvement, Knoxville and was a graduate of Washburn High School, class of 2014. Throughout Corporal Beeler’s Marine career, he was stationed at many locations around the world; including Japan, Thailand, Norway as well as the U. S.

Floyd Earl Ridenour-age 75 of Maynardville passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his home. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U. S. Army in 2002 as a Sergeant First Class. He was a Christian and had been baptized. Preceded in death by parents, Plumer and Lydia (Snodderly) Ridenour.

Survivors: wife of 50 years, Jennifer N. (Smith) Ridenour; daughter, Feleica Ridenour; grandson, Zachary Bridges, all of Maynardville; son, Jeff Ridenour of Knoxville; brother, John Paul Ridenour of Halls; sister, Wanda Faye Bruner of Maynardville. Several nieces and nephews.
