Clarence Henegar

Clarence Henegar, age 85, lifelong resident of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2019. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church for 50 years, and served as a deacon for 40 years. He was a graduate of Central High School, and went on to graduate from Cooper Institute. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years of service. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling, and was an avid golfer. He was very well known in the dancing community. As a young man he enjoyed square dancing, and in later years, ballroom and country dancing.

Donald L. Fowler

Donald L. Fowler, age 80, of Knoxville passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019. He enjoyed spending time with his family and eating out. He is preceded in death by wife of 26 years Carol Fowler, parents; Hugh & Hester Fowler, brothers; Albert, Billy, Glenn and James, and by dog Peanut. He is survived by son Keith Fowler, brother Wilbur Fowler of Springfield, Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Grove Heights Baptist Church (818 Frank Street Knoxville, TN). A service will follow at 4:00pm with Rev.

Lois Lee

Lois Ann Lee – age 67 of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2019.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Lee; parents, Clarence and Dorothy Effler; sister, Linda Sexton; brothers, Bobby and Charlie Effler. Lois is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Kenneth) Lawler; son, Bobby (Tammy) Tharp; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Emma (Bill) Collins, Karen (Randy) Chamberlain and Gerri (Mark) Ford; brother, Sandy (Peggy) Effler; and a host of loving nieces and nephews and other family members.

Mickie D. Faulkner

Mickie D. Faulkner-age 43 of Corryton passed away Tuesday morning, July 2, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. She was a member of True Life Ministries Church. She was a loving and selfless person who loved to make others smile and be happy. She was preceded in death by father, George Lee Poindexter; mother, Anna B. Collins; sister, Lisa Poindexter.

Clyde Ray

Clyde Ray-age 84 of Sharps Chapel passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Claiborne Medical Center. He was a retired employee of Union County Highway Department. Preceded in death by wife, Bonnie Beets Ray; parents, Mannie and Hope (King) Ray.

Survived by his daughter, Carolyn Ray of Sharps Chapel along with friend, Chris Burke. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elby Laverne Stehr

Elby Laverne Stehr-age 82 of Luttrell, formerly of Monroe County, Tennessee passed away suddenly Friday evening, June 21, 2019 at his home. He was born September 18, 1936 in Cordell, Oklahoma. He was a U. S. Army Veteran serving two enlistments with the Military Police. He was a retired Fireman with the City of Amarillo Fire Department, Amarillo, Texas.

Phyllis K. Varner

Phyllis K. Varner, age 68, of Knoxville passed away on June 25, 2019. She was a teacher’s aide at Adrian Burnette Elementary since 1986. She was a very rare person and she loved everyone. Preceded in death by mother and father Hattie Hunley and Andrew Hoskins and brother Charles Hoskins. Survived by husband of 49 years Mike Varner; sons Jason Varner and Timmy Varner; grandkids Mackenzie, Andreyah, Nicolas, and Michael; brothers and sisters; several nieces and nephews.

Charles Gary Morris

Charles Gary Morris – age 67 of Powell, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, June 24, 2019. Gary was a member of Community Baptist Church and a United States Navy Veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, baseball and golfing.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Reva Morris. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tammy (White) Morris; son, Brandon Morris; sister, Pam (David) Edds; nephew, Daniel (Kristin) Edds; nieces, Miranda (Ryan) Welch, Kristen (Paul) Newby; and many friends.

Tony Marvin Cooper

Tony M. Cooper-age 57 of Knoxville passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 at his home. He is preceded in death by brother, Mark Cooper. Tony was a U. S. Army Veteran and served for over five years.

Survivors: father, Rev. E. R. Cooper; mother, Opal Cooper; sisters and brothers-in-law, Thelma (Clyde) Beeler, Velma Nease, Cynthia (Bill) Hensley; brothers and sister-in-law, Jack (Kathy) Cooper, Richard Cooper. Several nieces and nephews.

Edward LeRoy Beeler

Edward L. Beeler, age 76, of Knoxville passed away on June 22, 2019. Ed was a member of the U.S. Army. He retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after many years of service. After he retired, he went on to become a dedicated employee of Clabough’s Campground. Ed’s favorite pastimes were being on the lake with his family, riding motorcycles, and enjoying the attractions in Pigeon Forge. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Irene Beeler; and brother Gene Beeler.

Jimmy Ray Atkins

Jimmy Ray Atkins-age 78 of Luttrell passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home. Preceded in death by wife, Pearl Wyrick Atkins; son, Steve Atkins; parents, Lester and Gladys Atkins; brothers, Lawrence and Gerald Atkins.

Survivors: son, Will Atkins and wife, Linda of Maynardville; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

Timorthy Ray "Tim" Hopson

Timothy Ray (Tim) Hopson-age 52 of Maynardville passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his home. He was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Preceded in death by father, Ray Hopson; step-mother, Sandra Hopson; step-father, Gene Hubbs. grandparents, Clumer and Fancy Hopson, James and Zelma Norris, Elmer and Cora Beeler; father-in-law, J. D. Shope.

Helen Fousteen Bailey

Helen Fousteen Bailey-age 94 of Washburn went to be with the Lord Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at home. She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Victor Bailey; son, Charles L. Bailey; parents, Loren and Dollie Helton; brothers, Howard, Earl, Ralph and Billy Wayne Helton.

Jenny Lou Holt Byrd

Jenny Lou Holt Byrd, age 88, of Maynardville, TN passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019. She was a longtime member of Clear Springs Baptist Church. Jenny enjoyed scrapbooking, crocheting, and gardening. She is retired from K-Mart after 27 years. She is preceded in death by husband of 68 years, Charles Byrd; mother Grace Fortner Holt Chamberlain and father Clifford Holt.

Charles Edward Green

Charles Green – He often said, “Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die.” And on June 15, 2019, Charles Edward Green, loving husband and father of two children, went to Heaven at the age of 70 in Maynardville. Charlie was born on January 15, 1949 in Kingsport, Tennessee to Roy and Willnette Green. In 1970 his son, Johnathon Edward was born. He married Kimberly (Kim) Jones 31 years ago and raised one son together, Samuel Roy. Charlie had many passions including motorcycles, 60’s & 70’s R&B music and hamburgers.

Donna Jo (Chesney) Rogers

Donna Jo (Chesney) Rogers-age 74 of Sharps Chapel passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Claiborne Medical Center. She was preceded in death by husband, Marsillus Isaac (Skeeter) Rogers.

Survivors: son, Joe Rogers, daughter, Angela Buege; granddaughter, Kelly Buege; instant granddaughter, Jennifer Housewright.

David Wayne Tolliver

David Wayne Tolliver-age 72 of Sharps Chapel went to be with the Lord, Friday afternoon, June 14, 2019 at his home with his wife and family at his side. He was a member and Deacon of Leatherwood Baptist Church. Retired employee of Union County Highway Department and also had a love of farming, hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by parents, Andrew and Lillie Tolliver; parents-in-law, Bob and Ethel Buchanan; sister-in-law, Shirley Tolliver.

Tyler Wayne Atkins

Tyler Wayne Atkins-age 24 of Luttrell passed away Friday, June 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by mother, Misty Dawn (Nankervis) Atkins; brother, Matthew Atkins; grandfather, Jerry Nankervis; special grandmother, Bonnie DeVault.

Audy B. Keck

Audy B. Keck-age 72 of Sharps Chapel went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer Thursday evening, June 13, 2019 at his home. Audy had a testimony of faith in the Lord, Jesus and was of the Baptist belief. He was a member of the Union County Rescue Squad. Preceded in death by parents, Warmer and Linda Keck; brothers, W. T., Joe, Jimmy and Harley Keck; sister-in-law, Nancy Keck; brothers-in-law, J. B. Stansberry and Jim Hayes.
