Paul Ray Smith, age 80, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, August 11th at his home in Fountain City. He was born March 1, 1937 to Carl and Nellie Smith in the community of Marbledale.
Former member of Lonsdale United Methodist. Retired from the Knox Co. School system at Byington-Solway.
Thomas Arthur Hodge, age 77 of Knoxville died suddenly on August 9, 2017. He was an Eagle Scout, a 1958 graduate of Central High School, and a graduate of The University of Tennessee and the UT College of Law. He was currently an attorney with Baker Donelson Law Firm. He was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Volunteer Ministry Center for 2017, President of Belmont West HOA, and President of Christian Homebuilders Class at Fountain City United Methodist Church where he enjoyed teaching classes. He was also an avid Vol fan.
Stacie Lee Lowery, age 34, of Knoxville, TN passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017. She was preceded in death by father Darrell Lowery, brother Chris Jones, grandparents Ola Mae and Raymond Acuff and Jim and Norman Lowery, and aunt Teresa Lowery. She is survived by mother Tina Acuff Jones, brother Shane Lowery, uncles Rick (Ann) Acuff and Luther Perry, special aunts Karen Hurst and RaNonda Sherrod, sister Jennifer Giganti, special cousin Ann Lajoy, special friend Michael Gibson, and numerous extended family and friends.
Dorothy Breeden Lett, age 75, of Clinton, passed away at home surrounded by her family on August 10, 2017. Dorothy was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was retired from Hoskins Drug Store. Dorothy is preceded in death by parents U.L. and Frances Breeden; brothers, William “Bill” Breeden (Evelyn), Tommy Breeden and Richard Breeden; sisters, Gerry Clark (James H.), Zelma Hill and Betty Ann Breeden; brother-in-law Robert E. Clark.
Johnnie Ault Bentley, 57 of Knoxville passed away quietly at her home on Thursday, August 10, 2017. She was born on February 3, 1960 in Knoxville to the late John Ault and Nellie Ruth Ault Lay. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Johnnie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Johnnie is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Patricia Lay and Ann Varner. Survived by daughters, Rhonda (David) Greene and Amanda Bentley; grandchildren, Jacob, Haley and Addison; 5 brothers, 2 sisters and companion Mickey Braden.
Tanya Michelle Borden, age 43, passed away August 8, 2017. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vicki Sue Jones Ellison; and her grandparents, Herman & Zelma Jones. She is survived by her daughters, Brittany Powers and Samantha Powers; her son, Zachary Borden; sister, Candy Jones (Eddie Hall); uncle, Gary (Rhonda) Jones; aunt, Sandra (Gary) Fox; Ron (Penny) Jones; and her boyfriend, John Walker. Jason “Jay Bug” Payne, age 30 of Knoxville, Tennessee, Passed away at his home August 4, 2017. He is preceded in death by mother Linda Owns and several aunts and uncles. Willie L. Burnett, 83 of Knoxville, went into the arms of Jesus of Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Willie was born to the late Austin Richard and Harriet Johnson Brown on March 27, 1934 in Knoxville. She loved to cook and be with her family. She loved being a wife, mother , and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survived by sister Wanda Sharp; children Mike (Donna) Burnett, James Burnett, Debbie Moreland, Janet Dawn Hurst, Kelly Mahan; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Joey Edward Cox-age 53 of Maynardville passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1964. Preceded in death by mother, Margie Capps Cox.

Paul Edward Branson-age 82 of Washburn, born October 27, 1934 in Beattyville, Kentucky passed away Monday evening, August 7, 2017 at his home. Paul professed his faith at an early age and was a U. S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. Paul was a retired Foreman of Skilled Trades with General Motors in Pontiac, Michigan. Following his retirement, Paul made his home in Washburn. Linda Carol Quillen, 71 of Rockford, TN passed away quietly Friday, July 28, 2017 with her family at her bedside. She was born to the late Clifford Webb and Martha Jane Spears on November 25, 1946 in Puttnam County Tennessee. Linda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Knoxville West Ward. Linda was a caring, strong willed and loving soul. She cared about people, often taking strangers in and caring for their emotional and physical health. She also was a home health nurse for many years.
Betty Jean Ellis Shultz, age 85, passed away on July 26, 2017. She was a member at Salem Baptist Church. Betty was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by husband Charles Preston Shultz Sr.; parents Dewey and Bertha Ellis; and brother Bob Ellis.

Wilma Waggoner Coffey, 72 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 with her family at her side. Dennis Ray Carpenter, 55 of Corryton went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Dennis was born to the late Bill R. and Evelyn J. King Carpenter on June 15, 1962 in Knoxville. He enjoyed being outdoors especially fishing. He loved his church and was known as a giving person. It brought a smile to his face when he knew he was helping others. He loved spending time with his family, surrounded by his grandchildren made him the happiest. Dennis was a long-time Knox County employee where he worked many years in the body shop.
