Kathleen (Kathy) Thompson-age 63 of Maynardville passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at her home. She was a proud CNA employee of Tennova Residential Hospice from the time it opened till the time it closed. Preceded in death by husband, Donnie (Smokey) Thompson; parents, Leslie Berger and Joan Gazley.
John Allen Rhyne , age 83, of Powell, passed away at Physician’s Regional Medical Center on April 24, 2018. He was a founding member of The Church at Sterchi Hills. John retired from over 50 years of working in the transportation industry. In his spare time, he enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing and camping in the mountains. He loved being around people, especially his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Jean Smart Rhyne; parents, Jack and Edith Rhyne; brothers, Charles and Eddie Rhyne; and sister, Jessie Milligan.

Brenda Sue Hutchison Ammons, age 73, of Halls Crossroads went home to be with her Lord on Friday April 20, 2018. She was a member of Emory Valley Baptist Church where she loved her Lord and Savior for many years. She is preceded in death by parents Ira and Lizzie Hutchison, loving husband of 55 years Elmer E. Ammons, brothers Jim and Steve Hutchison. Anthony “Tony” Austin Griffin, of Powell, passed away on April 18, 2018.

CURTIS BERT “CURTIE BERT” FLEENOR, 63 of Maynardville, TN formerly of Brandon, FL passed away unexpectedly & into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2018. He was born on September 16, 1954 in Louisville, KY, the firstborn son of Lawrence Bert Fleenor & Mary Jhalia Stewart who preceded him in death. A brother, Richard Scott also preceded him in death. His step-father whom he loved like a father, Francis Eggers, survives.

Don Howard Nokes, age 77, passed away on Sunday, April 15th 2018. He worked diligently in construction for 50 years and enjoyed fishing. He always loved spending time with his family.
Mrs. Ethel Lee Rush, age 89, from Corryton, Tennessee, entered into her rest Sunday, April 15th, 2018 at her home. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, but above all she was a child of God and taught many children about Jesus over the years as a Sunday school teacher. She was an excellent cook, a lover and healer of animals and never came across any plant, flower or tree that she could not nourish and make grow.

Debra Gail Merritt Howard, age 62 of Springfield died at her home on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Springfield, Tennessee. She worked many years as a Hotel Manager for Red Roof Inn and was a member of the Everyday Church in Goodlettsville. She was born on November 14, 1955 in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late Ray Emmerson and Mary Lou Fields Merritt. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Rae Denise Craig.

Captain Louis Gale Trivett, USAF, ret., age 77, of Knoxville went to be with his Lord Saturday, April 7th, surrounded by family. Lou was born July 17, 1940 in Bristol, TN to his parents Acton Beryl and Ada (Rutherford) Trivett. He married his wife Tonya (Davis) Trivett in 1964. Lou retired from the USAF and had a second career as a booster rocket engineer for the space shuttle program. He retired in 2011. Lou was a dedicated and loyal husband, father, and grandfather. He was kind and had a way of making anyone feel like a part of the family.
Brian Edward Hatmaker, age 50, of Powell, passed away April 10, 2018 at UT Medical Center. Brian was a graduate of Anderson County High School in 1986. He and his wife, Teresa, were married on October 10, 2014 at Big Ridge State Park. Brian attended Beech Grove Baptist Church in Rocky Top, Tennessee.
