D. Marie Rhyne – age 87 of Maynardville, born September 26, 1937 to the late George and Hazel Merritt, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025. Graduate of Washburn High School (1957). Past president of both the Grainger County and Tennessee Jacettes. Past president of Union County Business and Professional Association. Past Chairman Union County Chamber of Commerce. Member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Lifelong community servant. She was most proud of her family. Preceded in death by her brothers, Von Merritt and Ronald Merritt.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Rhyne; sons, Chuck Rhyne and wife Babs, Greg Rhyne and wife Danette; grandchildren, Shawn Rhyne and wife Mariam, Valerie Rhyne, Josh Rhyne and wife Katy; great-grandchildren, Tyler, James, Knox and Jaxon; sisters, Janice Pendergrass and husband Robert, Almeda Lewis; brothers, Albert Merrit and wife June, Jim Merritt and wife Delsie; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Merritt, Maudella Merritt; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM, Rev. Greg Hurst officiating. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville.
