Betty Josephine Shoffner

Betty J. Shoffner, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Luttrell, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family.

She was a faithful member of Little Barren Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was deeply committed to her faith and was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved her family, and they will all miss their Mom, Granny B, Nan , and Nano dearly.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 31 years, Tom Shoffner of Sharps Chapel; her parents, Lon and Pansy Butler; her brother, Ken (Margie) Butler; and her sisters, Billie (Wayne) Edmondson and Peggy (Jack) McNew.

She is survived by her boys, David (Wilma) Barnard and Tommy Shoffner; four grandchildren, Jason (Angel) Barnard, Greg Barnard, Shana (Brandon) Roark, and Kayla (Justin) Lundy; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends who will miss her deeply.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary in Maynardville. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Greg Sharp and Rev. Larry Beeler officiating, with music by Little Barren Choir and Diane Lay. Pallbearers: Brandon Roark, Justin Lundy, Jesse Rice, Danny Savage, Lynn Hunley, Johnny Sanders. Burial will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Stiner Ridge Cemetery in Sharps Chapel. Arrangements by Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
