Union County Health Department Open House Showcases Newly Renovated Building

MAYNARDVILLE, Tenn. – The Union County Health Department hosted its first Open House event on Tuesday, July 29th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The event was designed show case the newly renovated building and the services offered by the health department. Community members and elected officials gathered to participate in activities and engage with department staff and community partners.

“The recent renovations have transformed the Union County Health Department into a more open, welcoming, and efficient space for both patients and staff,” said Garnet Southerland, Union County Health Department. “With three new clinic rooms, a nursing station, and an expanded lobby and registration area, we are equipped and excited to better serve our community.”
The Union County Health Department offers a wide range of essential health programs and services, including:
• Immunizations – Childhood and adult vaccinations to protect against preventable diseases
• GIFTS – Tennessee’s pregnancy smoking cessation program
• Health Education – Offers educational services and programs to patients, schools, and community groups
• Women, Infants and Children (WIC) – Supplemental nutrition support for mothers and young children
• Vital Records – Certified copies of birth and death certificates for events occurring in Tennessee
• Community Health Access and Navigation in Tennessee (CHANT) – Tennessee’s enhanced and integrated patient-centered care coordination
