Veterans Day 2026
This Federal holiday started as Armistice Day on November 11, 1919. It marked one year since World War I ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.
Congress made it a legal holiday in 1938. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower officially renamed it Veterans Day to honor American service members from all wars, not just World War I. Veterans Day is observed annually on November 11 to honor all U.S. Armed Forces veterans.
The Union County High School Navy JROTC warmly invites all military veterans, active-duty personnel, families, and community members to join them in honoring the service, dedication, and sacrifice of those who have defended our freedom. Please honor our nation’s heroes at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10.
Please plan to attend and RSVP to UnionCountyNJROTC.UCPS.org
