Union County Christmas Tree Lighting Scheduled for Saturday November 28th
MAYNARDVILLE, TN — The Union County Chamber of Commerce and Union County Government are bringing back a beloved holiday tradition with the revival of the Union County Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Union County Courthouse in Maynardville.
The community is invited to gather for an afternoon and evening of Christmas festivities, family-friendly activities, local entertainment, and holiday cheer as Union County kicks off the Christmas season together.
The event will feature a free Christmas Car Cruise-In, welcoming car enthusiasts and visitors to enjoy a variety of vehicles while celebrating the holiday season. Local choirs will provide live Christmas music, filling the courthouse area with the sounds of the season. Entertainment will also be provided by Gary’s Sound Machine, adding to the festive atmosphere throughout the event.
Giving back to the community will be an important part of the celebration through the Union County Children’s Charity “Under the Tree” Christmas Toy Drive. Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to help support local children and families during the holidays. The toy drive offers an opportunity for residents to share the spirit of Christmas and help make the season brighter for children in Union County.
Families can also look forward to a very special visit from Santa Claus, giving children an opportunity to experience some Christmas magic. The evening will conclude with the lighting of the community Christmas tree, bringing everyone together for a memorable moment and officially welcoming the holiday season to Union County.
Along with the festivities, the Union County Chamber of Commerce will raffle a decorated Christmas Tree full of gift cards showcasing our local businesses. The Winner will receive the entire Christmas tree and every gift card on it.
The Union County Chamber of Commerce hopes the revived tradition will become an annual gathering that brings residents, families, local businesses, and visitors together while celebrating the community's small-town spirit and the importance of supporting one another.
“Christmas is a special time for our community, and we want to create an event where families can come together, enjoy the festivities, support a great cause, and make lasting memories,” said the Union County Chamber of Commerce.
Whether you come to enjoy the classic cars, listen to local choirs, donate a toy, visit Santa, or simply take part in the Christmas tree lighting, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 28, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Union County Courthouse in Maynardville. Bring your family, invite your friends, and consider bringing a new, unwrapped toy to help spread Christmas joy to children in our community.
Both the Union County Chamber of Commerce and Union County Government look forward to welcoming the community as Union County comes together to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
