In 2012, the Moore Family, (Mom Jodie and sons Hunter, Christopher, and John) started a family goat dairy farm in Tazewell with a herd of Nubian goats. They produced goat milk as well as handmade goat milk soap and lotions. During COVID, that operation expanded to include 50+ Black Angus beef cattle, and they added pork and lamb as well.

Rebel Hollow Farms' goal is simple. They want to help families put healthy, responsibly raised food on their tables. Good farming starts with healthy animals, clean pastures, quality feed, and farmers who care about doing things the right way. Their pork is pasture-raised, cattle are grass-fed and grain-finished, and the lamb is grass-fed. We use no added hormones or routine antibiotics.

After retiring from cutting hair, barber Brenda Stone began filling her time with a variety of activities, including sewing projects. Brenda and her husband Gary create as G+B Crafts. Some of her most popular items include a handy holder for hot bowls—perfect for bowls fresh from the microwave that are too hot to hold, or for keeping hot bowls from sitting directly on the table. Brenda also makes an attractive fabric egg holder. But if you don’t have hens, it works really well for holding change, keys, or other small items you want to keep organized. Both creations are available in several cheerful patterns and colors.

JP Crafts N More keeps adding to their selections. Jeanne Dash and Jessica Bickel offer stuffed, hand-sewn animals in many sizes, and each is unique. The fleece blankets are handcrafted in a range of patterns and colors or can be made with the colors of your favorite team. Mystery boxes contain individually hand-painted items. You never know what you'll get in a box. It’s a mystery! With Halloween coming up, they plan to bring spooky seasonal items to the fall Farmers’ Markets.

Amos Creations was ready with Christmas decorations last week and Halloween decorations this week.

Food is always welcome at the Market. Chef Zach and Culinary Arts student Seth Welch demonstrated an air fryer. It cooks and crisps food by using a powerful fan to circulate superheated air rapidly around a small cooking basket. It mimics the crispy texture of deep frying, but because it uses little to no oil, it is a much healthier alternative. They prepared Crispy Green Beans, Kale Chips, and Sweet Potato Chips. They sourced vegetables from Thompson Farms and Seven Springs Farm to Table.

Who doesn’t love snow cones? Eddie's Snow Cones was at the Market offering them in more flavors from A-Z than I could count. If snow cones aren’t your vibe, there were many flavors of ice cream as well as waffle cones, funnel cakes, and banana splits to choose from. Almost too many choices!

Harley Martin of Monkey Wrench Ministries was on the Opry Stage providing beautiful music for marketgoers.

Ken and Sally Baran of KSB Honey have so much bee and wildflower information to share. Their displays teach some basic honey facts that most people don’t even think about. Did you know, for instance, that it takes the lifetime of 12 honeybees to produce one teaspoon of honey? Or that it takes 21 days for a bee to go from egg to larva to pupa to adult? Store honey at room temperature; crystallization is natural. Just sit the jar of honey in a warm bath to liquefy it again.
