The Union County FCE (Home Demonstration) Club traveled to Gatlinburg for a two day Spring Fling. Members took an assortment of classes and celebrated our 250th.

The Eastern Region of Family Communication Clubs came together to have an adult like 4-H event. This replaced the Spring Camp that always took place in Greenville at the Clyde Austin Camp. There was entertainment, games, good food (Ramsay’s) , fellowship and more.

Through the UT Extension Office our club has been around since 1917. Big Ridge is the last remaining club out of 28 clubs. We will be hosting our Spring lunch on our regular meeting day May 21st, 10:00, registration begins at 9:30. We will have our Cultural Arts Competition along with our Fashion Review. Entertainment will be conducted by Lynn Prichard Dykes, singing Patriotic songs. Wear your red, white and blue as we celebrate our 250th Celebration. You may bring your children. There will be trivia games with prizes. We will be having an All American Pot luck lunch.

FCE meets the third Thursday of each month, 10:00 a.m. at the UT Extension office 2721 Maynardville Hwy. and Hickory Star Road. Next month we will have a speaker on Finances. Everyone welcome to join us. For more information call Abbey at 865-992-8038.
