Shiloh Recovery Services and ICARE Partner to Serve Families in Union County

Shiloh Recovery Services and ICARE partnered on February 28 to host an unhoused outreach event at the Recovery Court Office, serving individuals and families in Union County.

With the help of 14 community volunteers, the organizations provided breakfast and direct support to several individuals, including adults and children. During the event, the following essential items were distributed: 6 Food City gift cards (purchased by Shiloh Recovery Services), backpacks, blankets, socks, scarves, hand warmers, toboggans, gloves, hygiene bags, body washes, and shampoos. Care items distributed at the event were made possible through support from the Opioid Abatement Board and contributions from other community members who partnered to meet immediate needs.

The outreach focused on cold-weather protection, food security, and access to hygiene for individuals and families experiencing instability. "This event represents what community partnership looks like in action," said Samantha Brantley-Smith, CPRS, CPS, Founder of Shiloh Recovery Services. "When organizations collaborate, and volunteers show up, we can meet immediate needs while continuing long-term recovery and prevention efforts across Union County."

Rebecca Hughes, Executive Director of ICARE, added, "When we come together as partners, we are able to respond quickly and compassionately to families facing hardship. Outreach events like this remind our community that support systems exist, and no one has to navigate difficult seasons alone."

Shiloh Recovery Services and ICARE remain committed to outreach, prevention, and recovery support services throughout Union County, prioritizing measurable impact and direct community engagement.
