Pre-K Vision Screening

In Union County schools Aug 28 and 29. Check with your school to see which of these dates they will be there.

The Union County Lions Volunteers will be in all county elementary schools to provide FREE vision testing for Pre-K students. Please be sure that your student is in school on the day the screening is performed.

Many vision problems, like amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (crossed eyes), and refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism), can develop in early childhood and may not be easily noticeable by parents or caregivers. Vision screening is recommended for children at ages 3, 4, and 5

Vision is fundamental for learning, early literacy, social-emotional development, motor skills, and physical activity. Vision problems can hinder a child's ability to learn, play, and interact with their environment, potentially affecting their overall development.

Untreated vision problems can lead to irreversible vision loss in some cases. Early intervention through screening and appropriate treatment can prevent or minimize the impact of these problems.
