Lions Club offers free vision screening, eyeglasses

All you need is an application and appointment!!! Don't delay!!

Do you have a child, family member, or friend who has difficulty seeing but cannot afford to go to an eye doctor? No problem! The Smoky Mountain Lions Charities Vision Van is coming to Union County High School in Maynardville on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants from Union, Claiborne, and Grainger counties will receive a free eye exam and free glasses. All you need is an appointment. Vision Screening for children six and under will also be available by appointment.

To get an appointment, fill out the Union County Lions Club Information Application Form and mail or email it to Kathy Chesney. When she receives this form, Kathy will call you with your May 10 appointment time. At your scheduled appointment, all participants will receive a complete eye exam and will have an opportunity to choose the frame they prefer for their glasses. (There are some limitations.) Your frame will be sent out and the lenses ground to your prescription. Your completed glasses will be available for pickup on Saturday, May 31.

There is a limited number of appointments available, so early applications are recommended. No one who has made an appointment will be refused a free exam and glasses.
